Question #3: Santa Claus places this tile on Red's behalf. He has several questions for you:
a) How many points does each player score? (0-5 points)
b) What side of the tollhouse will be facing up at the end of this turn? (0-1 points)
c) After scoring, Blue would like to move the wagon. How many cities can the player choose from? Indicate if you are applying C1 or C2 rules in this case (0-1 points)
Answer #3: The placement of the tile completes two roads. Each one will trigger the scoring of the
Red tollhouse too, but both roads will be scored with current value of the tollhouse. Each road also has signposts that will have to be considered for the scoring.
Let's address each road in turn:
>>
The road occupied by YellowRed will score 5 points for The tollhouse (3 points for the group of travelers + 1 point for the farmhouse + 1 point for the shed).
Yellow[/u] will score 9 points (5 poins for the road + 4 points for the signposts):
- 5 points for the road itself (5 tiles x 1 point per tile)
- 4 points for the correct signposts (2 correct signposts x 2 correct types of signposts). Note the red and the blue arrows are correct, so there are 2 types of correct signposts and each correct signposts is worth 2 points.
>>
The road occupied by BlueRed will score 5 points for The tollhouse (3 points for the group of travelers + 1 point for the garden + 1 point for the shed).
Blue will score 5 points (4 poins for the road + 1 points for the signposts):
- 4 points for the road itself (4 tiles x 1 point per tile)
- 1 point for the correct signpost (1 correct signpost x 1 correct type of signposts). Note the left red arrow is correct, so there is 1 type of correct signposts and the correct signpost is worth 1 point.
After the scoring is ended, the tollhose will be flipped over to show the large toll (2) due to the presence of the 2 groups of travelers on the roads (it would have been enough with one group of travelers). Note that the tollhouse is not flipped until the scoring is finished, so all the roads are scored with the same current toll value, as indicated in the rules.
Regarding the
Blue wagon, depending on the rules applies, the outcome is different:
- In C1, the wagon can only move to the unoccupied city segment at the end of the road, so the answer would be 1.
- In C2, the wagon can move to any unoccupied city segments on the same tile or any adjacent tiles, so the answer would be 3 (the city segment on the same tile and the two adjacent city segments on the right). The city segment at the top is out of range.
Bottomline: Here are the answers to the questions:
a) The scoring:
-
Blue scores 5 points for their road
-
Red scores 10 points for the tollhouse (5 points + 5 points)
-
Yellow scores 9 points for their road
b) After scoring is ended, the tollhose will we flipped over to show the large toll (2).
c) Depending on the rules applies, the outcome is different:
- In C1, the wagon can only move to the unoccupied city segment on the right, that is only 1.
- In C2, the wagon can move to any of the 3 neighboring unoccupied city segments.
