chris00 is selling two copies of "Die Belagerer" over at BoardGameGeek for 25 Euro.

It looks like it's 25 EUR for just the the 6 Belageler tiles. It's the same price as the whole game (tin box plus almost 100 tiles plus meeples plus score board). IMO, it shouldn't cost more than 10-12 EUR.

Personally, I don't feel that 25 Euros is asking too much even for a mere six tiles. I don't think anyone would pay that for just any six tiles but when there's limited supply and high demand the price is bound to be driven up; partly by completionists who are desperate to make sure that their collection remains complete, and partly by people wanting to sell them on and make a profit. People like us who want things so that we can actually play with them are, sadly, in the minority but the fact that we exist at all won't change how much these are selling for on eBay etc and consequently how much they are "worth" (since value is subjective).

The box contains 114 tiles (including the King and Robber Baron tokens), 40 Meeples and a Scoretrack. And a metal box of course. Apart from the Die Belagerer tiles though, none of these are hard to come by and I'd be willing to suggest that probably 95% of the people lucky enough to own one of these boxes bought it simply for the Die Belagerer tiles.

I think it's actually quite a generous gesture to offer these tiles for 25 Euros as the rest of the set is worthless by comparison. Well, not exactly worthless but certainly much easier to get elsewhere if they're not already owned. Obviously this is just an opinion though and I'm only too well aware that other people may feel differently about it!

Yes, I know what Meuller is, been there many times. I didn't understand what you meant by that sentence, but I think it's a translation issue. Nevermind.

I agree with danisthirty. If I was standing in the store looking at the game on the shelf I would probably buy it for 25EU - knowing I only wanted the 6 tiles. I wouldn't be saying to myself, "I know I can buy the base game for 15EU so the value of the 6 tiles is really only 10EU - there's no way I'm spending 25!". I would reason that what I am paying for, really, is the 6 tiles. So then, all you have to do is get over the fact that a middle man is making some extra money - and it becomes the same 25EU. That is the value of it being made available.

So, I was just looking at my new Besieger tiles, and then I compared them to my Siege and Cathars tiles and...GREAT SCOTT!!! They're completely different tile arrangements. I had previously thought that the Besiegers were the same tiles as Cathars/Siege + two new tiles. But lo and behold, they are all new tile arrangements compared to the originals. Not a single repeat. Did anyone else notice this? This means something quite important: Cathars remains a completely separate expansion, now. It gets included as a separate expansion in all official circles. Siege? Well, Siege is a reprint of Cathars, albeit with different artwork, so it still doesn't count when I count "official" expansions for my scenarios. Anyway, wow! What a realization.
