Okay, here are a few clarifications that I think we need based on the newest expansion and the recent Dragon FAQ:
Since the Dragon can eat the teacher, does the teacher count as being on both tiles when he/she is in the school? (Similarly voiced by JT Atomico on another thread.)
Do the German castles protect followers from the Dragon the same way that other castles do?
When the Dragon lands on a German castle tile (the double tile), does this whole tile count as a single tile for the purposes of movement?

I wanted to ask the same thing :)

The Dragon can eat the Teacher? What would be the point of it eating a neutral figure?

Hi Carcking,
please look here:

When the teacher is out of the game, noone can get any teacher bonus points. The difficult question ist: Does the dragon eat the teacher from both school tiles or should we place the teacher on one of the two tiles (there are some classrooms (-huts)) and he/she will only be eaten if the dragon is on this tile?

In game play terms, there's not really much point, as it affects everyone equally. However, I think that HiG made this decision to keep the symbolism constant -- if you're a human (or pig or sheep), you're not going to fare well against a dragon.

In the meantime HiG published an updated version of the meal plan. Now the dragon also eats wagons (since there is a yummy driver) and it doesn't eat teachers anymore. Unfortunately they didn't include include any information about the German castles.
