Question #1: The Gingerbread Man places this tile. How many points does each player score?

Answer #1: The tile just placed completed the city occupied by Yellow. The city occupied by Red is still incomplete due to the triangular gap.

Therefore, only Yellow will score 8 points for the completed city ( (3 tiles + 1 coat of arms) x 2 points = 4 x 2 points)

This result is the same for C1 and C2.

Bottomline:
- Yellow will score 8 points
- Red will score no points

Question #2: After recovering, the Snowman places this tile on behalf of Red, closing a road.
1) Can Red send a meeple to the Wainwrights quarter in Leipzig? (0-1 points)
2) How many points would Red score according to your previous answer? (0-5 points)

Answer #2: Red completes a road connected to Leipzig through two villages. This allows Red to send a meeple to the Wainwrights quater in Leipzig. The Yellow Meeple in that quarter is irrelevant.

Since Red has two meeples on the completed road, the player can send a meeple to Leipzig and score points for the road. Additionally the player will receive the Wainwrights bonus for the meeple just sent to Leipzig.

If Red had only one meeple on the road, the player would neither score points for the road nor receive the Wainwrights quarter bonus.

Red would score two separate scoring events:
- 8 points for the road (4 tiles x (1 road point + 1 point for the inn) = 4 x 2 points)
- 4 points for the Wainwrights quarter bonus (4 tiles x 1 point/tile = 4 points)

Yellow would score no points.

Bottomline:
1) Yes, Red can send one on the meeples on the road to Leipzig.
2) The scoring goes as follows:
- Red will score 8 + 4 = 12 points
- Yellow will not score points

Question #3: Santa Claus placed this tile on behalf of Blue, who decides to place a tollhouse. How many points does each player score?

Answer #3: Blue closes two roads and placed a tollhouse token.

Let's score both roads...

1) Scoring the road occupied by Red:

The road occupied by Red has 5 tiles, 1 inn, 1 garden, 1 pigsty, 1 cowshed.
- Blue will score 3 points for the tollhouse (1 point for the garden + 1 point for the pigsty + 1 points for the cowshed)
- Red will score 10 points for the road ( 5 tiles x (1 road point + 1 point for the inn) = 5 x 2 points)

2) Scoring the road occupied by Yellow:

The road occupied by Yellow has 5 tiles, 1 garden, 1 highwaymen symbol and 1 traveler group. The garden and the inn under the bridge do not affect this road.

- Blue will score 5 points for the tollhouse (1 point for the garden + 1 point for the highwaymen + 3 points for the traveler group)
- Yellow will score 5 points for the road (5 tiles x 1 point/tile)

Once the scoring is finished, the tollhouse would be flipped to show the high toll side with a 2 on top, since the tollhouse scoring included a group of travelers.

Bottomline:
- Blue will score 3 + 5 = 8 points as two separate scoring events for the tollhouse
- Red will score 10 points for their road
- Yellow will score 5 points for their road.

Question #4: Danisthirty places this tile on behalf of Red. How many points will score the player in this case?

Note: Please indicate if you are applying C1 or C2 rules for your scoring! I'm expecting by default C2 rules. Thank you!

Answer #4: This question will have two different answers depending on the edition used:

>> C1 rules

The road occupied by Red has an inn and 6 tiles but:
- One of the tiles is a German cathedral with 2 segments connected to the same road (each road segment has to be counted separately).
- One German castle double-sized tile with both halves connected to the same road (the tile is counted once).

Red will score 24 points for the road (21 points for the road + 3 points for the German castle):
- 21 points for the basic road scoing: (2 road segments on the German cathedral + 4 regular tiles + 1  German castle tile) x (1 point for the road + 1 point for the German cathedral + 1 point for the inn ) = 7 x 3 points = 21 points
- 3 bonus points for the German castle (bonus only considered once)

Bottomline:
- Red will score 27 points for the road

>> C2 rules

The road occupied by Red has an inn and 6 tiles but:
- One of the tiles is a German cathedral with 2 segments connected to the same road (each road segment has to be counted separately).
- One German castle double-sized tile with both halves connected to the same road (each half is counted separately).

Red will score 27 points for the road (24 points for the road + 3 points for the German castle):
- 24 points for the basic road scoring: (2 road segments on the German cathedral + 4 regular tiles + 2 halves of the German castle tile) x (1 point for the road + 1 point for the German cathedral + 1 point for the inn ) = 8 x 3 points = 24 points
- 3 bonus points for the German castle (bonus only considered once)

Bottomline:
- Red will score 27 points for the road

Question #5: The Grinch places this Halfling tile. How many points can Red score for the city? Please indicate if you apply C1 or C2 rules.

EDIT: The Grinch was here. >:D

Answer #5: Since no additional information was provided in the question, 3 possible scenarios may happen regarding the fairy:
A) It is Red's turn and the fairy does not move, the one assumed by default for this question
B) It is Red's turn and the fairy is assigned to the castle lord
C) It is Yellow's turn, so the fairy does not move.

Depending on the scenario, the outcome may differ.

Additionally, this question would have two potentially different answers depending on the edition used, but the outcome happens to be the same in this case.

>> C1 rules

Red will score points for the completed city overlapping the castle fief. The German castle occupies two of the spaces in the vicinity of the castle, so the city segment on it will trigger the scoring of the castle. The Bad Neighborhood scoring tile will affect the tile count of the city (its semicircular segments) but it will not affect any figures, bonuses or other mechanics involved in the scoring.

The city just completed has Halfling and double-sized tiles. It has 8 tiles, where:
- The two triangular tiles are counted individually
- The triangular tile closing the city is counted as 1 tile
- The double-sized tile is counted as 1 tile

Additionally, the Bad Neighborhood scoring tile will alter the tile count to consider when scoring the city. In this case, we will have to discard all those tiles only contributing with semicircular city segments only (those valid to build a castle). This means we will subtract 4 tiles from the tile count:
- The CRRR tile on top only contributing its semicircular city segment
- The German castle as it is only contributing its semicircular city segment
- The two Halfling tiles only contributing with a semicircular city segment

All in all, we will score the city as it had 4 tiles only, so it is worth 11 points (8 points for the city + 3 points for the German castle):
- 8 points for the city (4 tiles x 2 points/tile)
- 3 bonus points for the German castle contributing to the city

The Red Castle Lord will score the same points the city is worth in this case, that is, 11 points.

Scenarios A) and C) do not affect the Red's scoring, but scenario B) will grant Red the 3-point fairy scoring bonus.

Bottomline:
- Scenario A: Red will score 11 points for the castle
- Scenario B: Red might score 14 points (11 points for the castle + 3 bonus points for the fairy, if assigned to the castle lord)
- Scenario C: Red will score 11 points for the castle

>> C2 rules

Red will score points for the completed city overlapping the castle fief. The German castle occupies two of the spaces in the vicinity of the castle, so the city segment on it will trigger the scoring of the castle. The Bad Neighborhood scoring tile will affect the tile count of the city (its semicircular segments) but it will not affect any figures, bonuses or other mechanics involved in the scoring.

The city just completed has Halfling and double-sized tiles. It occupies 7 square spaces: - The two triangular tiles in the same space are considered like 1 tile
- The triangular tile closing the city is also considered as occupied by 1 tile
- The double-sized tile only contributes to the city with one half, so it is counted as one occupied space (one square tile).

Additionally, the Bad Neighborhood scoring tile will alter the tile count to consider when scoring the city. In this case, we will have to discard all those tiles only contributing with semicircular city segments (those valid to build a castle). This means we will subtract 3 tiles from the tile count:
- The CRRR tile on top only contributing its semicircular city segment
- The German castle half only contributing its semicircular city segment
- The Halfling tile bottom right only contributing its semicircular city segment.
However, we will still consider the space with the two triangular tiles, since they are considered as one tile and one of the halves contributes with a non-semicircular segment to the city.

Notes:
* The tile placement also completes an unoccupied road, so Red Castle Lord could have chosen to score this road instead.
* A castle scores the points a completed neighboring feature is worth no matter it is occupied or not, no matter if the meeples occupying it can score points for the city or not. Even if Yellow receives points for the fairy, this will not affect Red's scoring for the castle.
