Hi all,

For those unaware of what it is really going on, I will just break it for you: Christmas is coming!!! Again... So does Winter... at least in the Northern Hemisphere!

In preparation of the coming events, here at Carcassonne Central, a lot is happening behind the scenes. The Meeple Council is in session discussing whether phantoms should be allowed to be acrobats...

This is just a smoke screen, because the real agenda for today is...

- Easter Bunny: I came hopping as fast as I could.
- Fortune Teller: Good! Did anybody follow you?
- Easter Bunny: Er... I don't think so.
- Fortune Teller: No trail of Easter eggs?
- Easter Bunny: No.
- Fortune Teller: No trail of Easter eggs wraps?
- Easter Bunny: No.
- Fortune Teller: Sure?
- Easter Bunny: Sure.
- Fortune Teller: (staring)

- Easter Bunny: Sure.
- Fortune Teller: OK... What you told me last time was quite disturbing.
- Easter Bunny: Could you find anything about its meaning?
- Fortune Teller: I checked the CAR v7.4 and WICA and there's nothing.
- Fortune Teller: Show me your paw... Let's see if I can see something.
- Fortune Teller: Ohmmmm....I see one extra tile... I see a high scoring...
- Easter Bunny: Oh, come on!
- Fortune Teller: (with grave pose) Ahem! Ahem!...

- Fortune Teller: Ah! This is interesting!!!

- Easter Bunny: What?
- Fortune Teller: You are working on caramel-filled eggs for next year?
- Easter Bunny: (Angry) This is serious!

- Fortune Teller: (Humbly) I know, I know... but these stains of caramel on your paw...
- Easter Bunny: Oh! NOOOOO!

- Fortune Teller: You left tracks on your way down here... Do you ever wash your paws?
- Easter Bunny: (in shock)

- Fortune Teller: Run! Act normal! Don't speak to anybody about this.
- Easter Bunny: What about the monsters?
- Fortune Teller: This is an omen! Something evil is coming upon us!
- Easter Bunny: Oh dear! I lost my lucky carrot!

- Fortune Teller: Go! Go! Go! The outcome of the Advent Calendar will be decisive!
- Fortune Teller: The rules excerpt is a good mantra to calm you down... GO!!!

- Meepledrone: (addressing the meeple crowd below) The Meeple Council has determined that this year we will celebrate the Carcassonne Advent Quiz as usual...
- Blue Meeple: (shouting from the crowd) Again? Boo! Boo! The syndicate will sit down with the Count to discuss this abusive imposition right before Christmas!
- The Meeple Crowd: (mumbling in agreement)
- The Grinch: (whispering to Meepledrone) Hope everything is ready. No delays or issues are allowed this year. Or someone will burn like a marshmallow.
- Meepledrone: (looking back with disdain) Looking at anyone in particular?
- Meepledrone: (addressing the meeple crowd below) You may go now and get ready for the quiz starting tomorrow! THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH INDEED AND SO ON!
- The Meeple Crowd: (mumbling in agreement)
- Orange Meeple: (shouting from the crowd) We want Dorothy back!
- The Grinch: (yelling) Shoo! shoo! Go home, you disgusting minions!
- The Meeple Crowd: (mumbling while going away)
- Snowman: Please, no talk of fire... It gives me the creeps!

- Santa Claus: Let there be peace, fellows! Everything is fine.... (to himself) so far.
- Danisthirty: Where is the Easter Bunny?
- Gingerbread Man: He went out to buy some toilet paper. Or was it some meeple flags?
- The Grinch: (to Meepledrone) This scum should have taken care of that... You lazy piece of wood!
- Meepledrone: (sighing) Same old, same old...

Between the 1st and 24th December I will post a small Carcassonne scoring question each day (at a random time), to which the answer will be points scored by one or more players according to the question.

When you know the answer, don't post it on this thread! Because then everyone will know, and we don't want that. Instead, send Meepledrone a PM including the question number and your answer for that day. He won't respond to your PM (please don't be offended), but if you get the answer correct you will win one or more quiz points depending on how many others have answered it correctly before you:

1st correct answer 5 points
2nd correct answer 4 points
3rd correct answer 3 points
4th correct answer 2 points
All subsequent correct answers 1 point

There's no cut-off date for any particular questions so don't despair if you miss any. You can even answer all 24 questions on Christmas eve if you want, but don't expect to score big overall...

Once Christmas and boxing day are behind us, I will post the correct answers – one at a time – along with who won the big points (or indeed any points) and total scores per participant. This is where it gets really fun!

The overall winner will be the person with the most points at the end of the quiz, but there is likely to be a small prize for everyone who answers all questions regardless of whether they manage to answer any of them correctly. It will be a surprise.

Any questions, please ask now. Otherwise, you can expect question 1 of 24 sometime on December 1st!
