Just a small update in case anyone is trying to track down old expansions. I have just purchased the following from these locations and are all still in stock:

GQ Quarterly - https://boardgamegeekstore.com/products/carcassonne-gq-promo-tiles#
The Phantom - Easy to find on any eBay
The Festival - https://shop.asmodee.com/carcassonne-mini-expansion-5-the-festival-zmp530
The School - https://cundco.de/mini-erweiterungen/carcassonne/74/carcassonne-die-schule-alte-edition-de?c=0
The Labyrinth - https://cundco.de/mini-erweiterungen/carcassonne/221/carcassonne-das-labyrinth-alte-neue-edition-de/en?c=0
Little Buildings - https://nostheide.de/webshop3/product_info.php?products_id=246
The Wind Roses - https://nostheide.de/webshop3/product_info.php?products_id=306
Halflings - https://nostheide.de/webshop3/product_info.php?products_id=365
The Flying Machines - https://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/product_info.php?products_id=65556
The Messengers - https://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/product_info.php?products_id=65557
The Ferries - https://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/product_info.php?products_id=65559
The Goldmines - https://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/product_info.php?products_id=65560
Mage & Witch - https://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/product_info.php?products_id=65561
The Robbers - https://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/product_info.php?products_id=65562

Obviously postage will vary, but just purchased all these in stock at retail prices (unfortunately the shipping really hurt in some instances), but thought it might help to share what is available.

Still really hoping to find Original Artwork Hills & Sheep, Beseigers and Corn Circles 1 one day, but it's feeling like that might not happen.

great list, for the one you mention, I don't think you'll ever find on some retail shop

it will be second hand or here via some members who decide to downsize.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere that sells these little boxes for mini expansions for a reasonable price? $30 for one box is a bit excessive.

Maybe it's for postage fee. Originally it's selling in UK for 6.49 Pound, which is not expensive

Formerly they were sold directly on Cundo.de.  I checked my order history and the "Faltschachtel-Set für CC-Mini-Erweiterungen" which had 10 small and 5 large boxes was 12.50 Euro, so I agree with you that even 6.49 for a single box (pre-shipping) is quite an increase.

These handy boxes silently dissapeared from Cundco some time ago, unfortunately. I grabbed one last year as a cheap addition to my Advent sale purchase with a foolish notion that they would be available always. Sadly, no more.

Would you by any chance remember what they originally cost on Cundco? I don't really have much reference as to what they were originally worth.  :)

Hi chris6507,

That particular seller on eBay is a profiteer and pirate. Everything from him is exploitatively priced for the uninformed or desperate. If there was a 'Do NOT buy from here' sticky he should feature. I have bought from him in the past before I found this forum and got an idea of reasonable costs, when my enthusiasm was greater than my knowledge.

In stark comparison, the UK retailer 'Boardgame Extras' used to sell them for £1 - £1.25 (they have long been unavailable). Their prices never seem to be much above Cundco retail + fair shipping. I don't know how they make money to be honest, but they are nice and reliable and I support them whenever possible:

https://www.bgextras.co.uk/small-box-for-carcassonne-mini-expansions-i4801.htm

I wouldn't be surprised if the eBay seller didn't buy up all the £1.00 stock to sell it for £6.49. It is why he is the only one left with these boxes.

My advice would be to get busy and make some of the excellent tuckbox designs available in the Workshop. That's more fun anyway and a more space-efficient option as the boxes are sized to their tile counts/ components.

I'm sorry but I disagree; £6.49 for a small, empty foldable box is an outrageous example of profiteering and could never be considered reasonable.

While established forum members are experienced enough to be able to laugh at some of the 'SUPA MEGA RAR' listings, such listings and prices might be taken as legitimate by people new to collecting. I know I paid prices far in excess of what I could have done when I first started out when I was uninformed and excited about this new game and these sets of beautiful tiles.

Some sellers prey on those who don't know better or different. As a responsible community I believe we should try to warn people where possible. Since we have a sticky thread for recommended locations, isn't there also merit in having a thread to warn people about certain sellers?

I tried my best to dig up the original invoice but in vain, it may be that it was actually earlier than last year. I stupidly bought just one box as it added that needed little something to a necessary price to qualify for a Spiel tile, it must have been really cheap. There was a set of boxes at that time as well and I planned to eventually get these which I never did. The quoted offer is at any rate grossly overpriced, I fully agree with unclewill. I also paid at several occasions much more than I would have paid if I knew what relevant prices may have been but I agree that home-made tuckboxes are a better option than supporting such vultures.

Thanks for the advice everyone. The boxes would have been great to have for some of the old expansions i've managed to track down. But no way am I going to feed the scalpers. Maybe once Christmas and everything is over I can look into making some of the custom ones as suggested. If anyone has any highly suggested custom boxes they'd like to recommend i'd love to hear it. Thanks.

It's been really good to see how others have been sharing links to various Carcassonne items/ finds via this thread. It's heartening to be reminded that we are a community that chooses to help each other out by posting links directly rather than attempting to profiteer through it by buying everything up for ourselves and selling them on at inflated prices. Long may it continue! :(y)
