Indeed!
Usually 999 Games is very quick with new releases. I remember getting Safari from them because they were even before HiG with that one
I noticed they did use the image style on a banner during the Dutch&Belgian championships, even stating "De bekende klassieker in een nieuw jasje". Heavily hinting at their C3, but maybe they're getting rid of the C2 stock first?

I got to go to the Netherlands again over the weekend.
A combination of family visit, and also got to play a lot of samba again.

One thing I of course can't skip, is picking up more Carcassonne! My parents had a decent stack of boxes waiting, including a personal delivery from a generous donator from the forum!

I also had some spare time and found a games shop where I could pick up a few C2 expansions that I didn't have in Dutch yet.

It's a big mix of Dutch, some French, some German and an Italian box, some Dutch phantoms, and a full display of phantoms still in seal.

Happy to have added this all to the museum!

A beautiful stack of boxes you have there Willem!

The postwoman brought a stack to my house this morning but most was for my wife. There were two envelopes for me from France. The first contained more emergency banknotes issued by the Carcassonne Chamber of Commerce. I’ve already explained this history of these so I won’t go into it again.

The other envelope contained a 1.5 euro coin from 1997, from before euro currency became standardized. Both sides are so beautifully designed that I must share both with you.

The five-cent coin was hiding in my mailbox. Here it is with its siblings.

Love the sight of all those coins @Scott ! Looks like you're getting an amazing cross-over collection!

I was woken up this morning by the postman, having a little parcel for me:

I found the Italian version of the Discovery spin off, and whilst i was at it, of course couldn't resist ordering an Italian Carc20 :D To my surprise, the Discovery is also still sealed! I was not expecting that, but it's a welcome surprise!

It took 6 weeks, but Zamek Sokół finally came.  Also received the very cute snow globe (thanks for the tip, Scott!).  I'm glad the snow globe was packaged better than the 10th anniversary edition, as it arrived in 3 pieces (top completely off, back piece hanging on by one corner).  I heard that in general the 10th anniversary box wasn't very sturdy to begin with, but I'd hoped to get one in better shape than this.  At least all the pieces are there and it wasn't that expensive...
It's all fun and games...until the Mirror Zone comes out.

Thanks for the repair tips; it definitely needs some help.  I'll see if I can find that glue and give it a try.

While searching the Forum for "hexagon" (for obvious reasons), I discovered Land vs. Sea.  My copy arrived late yesterday:

The game is amazingly well made.  The double-sided tiles are very thick and were pre-punched with nice clean edges.  Beautiful and clear instruction booklet.  I love the minimalism: just the tiles, a few optional wooden tokens, and the box holding the scoreboard.

I will post another thread with details on the tile distribution (among the 14 possible edge combinations), but for now I'll just note that there is a single tile that has both LLLLLL (volcano) and SSSSSS (vortex), but there is no tile with LSLSLS!?

Super excited to play, particularly the asymmetric 3-player option.  And of course I already have a few variants in mind... >:D

Looks good. It looks like you're definitely in hex-mode. You should try and play Fjords too!
