Why does the red player played so bad in Q16? And please do not call the fortune teller, as it is part of a PnP.

Ah, but River II no longer exists!

I've just checked my shelves; thankfully it's still there!

Yes, it is still on the shelf. But it is just an incomplete Exp. 6 expansion, not a complete so-called "The River II" "expansion".  :D

(on the back of both C1 and C2 Exp 6, it calls out the different components, including River 2....)

The same happens to Exp. 9, but very is no expansion called "Vineyards", for example.

Ah, but River II no longer exists! It was merged with Exp. 6, so River II is Exp. 6, and in the same time, is not Exp. 6. The same happened with Cathars and Siege. They have been banished, and now we hope that they will release The Besiegers in C2/C3 on CundCo! :)

Look also at Heretics and Shrines. The 6th tile has been banished along with the whole expansion, because the great Exp. 6 emerged.

There are no I, II or III. There are only the "The River" (that comes in various configuration) expansion and the "Count, King and Robber" expansion that comes with 12 river tiles with only 1 configuration.

Thus, there is no "River I", "River II" or "River III". We have The River (that can be the normal C1-C2 river, the normal C3 river, the 20th Anniversary River, the BB5 river, or any of these rivers + GQ11) and the Count, King and Robber river (that has only 1 configuration, but also a variant with GQ11).

Official Rules / Re: The Drawbridges – Rules
« on: December 14, 2023, 06:30:00 PM »
These need clarification at https://wikicarpedia.com/car/The_Drawbridges#Other_expansions:
  • If there is a road that leads to a drawbridge (that leads to an incomplete city) and that has only 1 highwayman on it, and that highwayman is eligible to go to a bathhouse, is completed, then the owner of the highwayman has to send the highwayman to a bathhouse, the owner not being able to move the highwayman in the incomplete city.
  • If on a just completed road there are several meeples, and after some of them have been sent through the drawbridge(s) and only 1 meeple remains on the road, this meeple does not have to be sent to a bathhouse – in order for a meeple taking part in a scoring to be eligible for bathhouse, it must be alone at the moment of scoring, and the fact that the meeple was alone after the other meeples moved through drawbridge(s) does not matter, because the feature (the road) was already scored.

This is similar to The Markets of Leipzig – meeples can remain alone on the Leipzig roads, but that does not mean they have to be sent to bathhouse. This is not explicitely clarified by WICA.

Uff. Never realized that this situation can happen. Nice question!
What situation? The one where 1 monastery can subsist only with 1 monk, 2 shepherds, 2 vineyards and 8 sheep?

37
Mayor and ghost(s) in a castle – a déjà vu.

38
Is this the first time when a river is featured in the Advent Calendar?

39
The red player was really lucky to draw this tile.  ;)

40
A city with the spice Carcassonnese half anise (Illicarcum verum)!

41

City Gates are already done!

https://cundco.de/spiele-erweiterungen/mini-erweiterungen/?p=1 – I do not find them. The City Gates do not exist, in fact, even in C1.

42
It is odd that both a) and b) bring 1 point. b) is definetily harder.

Only C1. This is heresy... Here there are 3 good expansions that could have been converted to C3.

43
I really do not understand why HiG does not release The Besiegers in C3. The expansion was not popular enough in C1?

Also finally played with the sieges mini expansion that I bought 18 years ago
You played it the first time when you reached 18 years?  :D

You mentioned a River 2. This River 2 is the one from Exp. 6 - Count, King and Robber, isn't it? My river tiles from my Lineart (the Romanian publisher) copy of Exp. 6 have light backs, not dark backs. As such, I was surprised when I was translating https://wikicarpedia.com/car/River#Contents and saw this: The River II: 12 river tiles, each with a dark back and a crown symbol.

is this the shadows and fog expansion?
You seem influenced by the French name of Mists over Carcassonne, that is, Ombres et Brouillard;) The name of the expansion, at least in English, is, however, Ghosts, Castles and Cemeteries.

P.S. Will the Advent Quiz include any cat tiles?
