Title: adding pictures in text instead of adding as attachment
Post by: thodekey on January 02, 2018, 02:33:03 AM
Hello there,

I can say i've been here for a while now but i still struggle with adding pictures in between text on this forum.  As a result all my pictures for my review on Sheriff of Nottingham are attached as...uhhh...attachments...and can only be seen on the bottom of my post which is a bit silly and not that logic at all.  Can anyone explain me how to do that the way it has to be?

I believe you need to have them hosted elsewhere (i.e. on a photo storage/sharing website) to do this on desktop. Whenever I want to include pictures, I always do it on the tapatalk app on iPhone, because that way, you don't need to upload the pictures anywhere else first.

Yes, you need to host your pictures elsewhere, get a sharable link and insert given link into your post in img tags, like this:
Code: [Select]
[img width=400]https://i.pinimg.com/originals/41/c8/41/41c841521eefc68d8171e9969562ed0b.jpg[/img]

^ What they said.

The only thing I can add is that you should never, never, never use photobucket for hosting your images for you.

Ooh - another tip: if you quote a post that includes an inline image (i.e. a photo displayed with the text rather than as an attachment) then it will show you the tag that is used to display the image, which might be helpful for copying purposes.

Hi Thodekey. I use onedrive. You put them in a folder. Then go to the webversion. If you find your photo you can click on it. And there it says embed. It's free, but limited storage(5~15gb or something.)

You can also do this from your google account as well, it has lots of space

I'll take a look at that, for now there is here a guide to do it: Guide for adding pictures in text (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=3753.0)

Edit: I have looked at it, but I needed to change the link. It wasn't possible for me to use the first link I got from Google? Is that correct?
