Oh, I had already chatted with him on GEEK and he asked for a direct transfer so I gave up. Because I think a real seller should provide a reliable platform, even if there is a handling fee.

Hi daveztpc2000, welcome to the community. I haven't been active on here recently but felt compelled to raise a couple of points.

On a general note, any seller has the right to list and request a sales process however they prefer. Equally, any prospective buyer can choose to accept that process or propose something else, but fundamentally it is the right of each party to accept or not. If you don't like the process on offer, you do not have to go through with it and have no right to expect someone to bow to your desire.

The community has chosen to keep sales and offers in the open for a number of good reasons. It gives other members an idea of what items are currently being offered or bought for to help them make informed decisions in the future. It also makes it less likely that someone will pay grossly too much or too little for an item which is good for less experienced collectors who may have more enthusiasm that patience!

I say this with no offence intended, as you may know you are reliable and trustworthy, but you do not yet have an established reputation in the community. A good proportion of your posts (9) to date relate to this thread. While it might seem unfair, and with no judgement intended, you are currently the riskier part of the exchange.

From personal experience I can say that The Edge is a reliable, generous, and very helpful member of the community. But even if I had no personal experience, I could see from his profile how engaged, helpful, and well respected he has proven to be. He is a known and valued member of the community.

Carcassonne Central is a great community of players and collectors who share a passion for this game. We all gain from each other's enthusiasm and support, whether that is knowledge, advice, or a less risky place to buy/ sell/ trade than eBay or BGG. It operates on reputation and trust.

While I am not as active as I was, I still enjoy and appreciate the dedication and generosity of fellow members and hope you do too.

Hi Lewis, that's great.

Hi Lewis,
I already have a copy of Die Pest in shrink but am interested in your tidy box of Cult, Siege and Creativity.
I only want half of the bundle and am prepared to offer half of the asking price.
I have also emailed you on BGG regarding the non-Carcassonne games we discussed earlier.
Cheers, Will

Ha, I love it!

The frozen meeples are gorgeous, but you are limited to the 8 colours, and I would say that clear meeples are probably a better fit if you want the ‘classic’ phantom look. But those frozen meeples do look glorious on the table...

Thanks for a great afternoon and post-event write up! It was a treat to finally meet up in real life and play some games! I am looking forward to more gaming in person, the social side cannot be beaten.

Cubecassonne was great fun and a really engrossing variant that I hope to play again.

I am confident that Jessica absorbed some lessons from the assembled Carcassonne Central members! I certainly did, and it was a master-class in goodie bag delivery and collective collecting!

Hi carcie, I would suggest getting colours that allow you to take advantage of the beautiful mixed frozen meeple set as Phantoms. I use the white frozen with the base black set (but it would work well with grey or of course white) with the other base colours plus orange, pink and purple.

Disclaimer first: not sure if I should post this here as I have been accruing this stuff for the last year with family in France. It involves a pile of Carcassonne getting to me so I thought it was reasonable.

I wasn't expecting to have to wait so long but this little thing called COVID got in the way. Finally got to see my family over Easter, and as a bonus I got my hands on the stash.

It was quite large, but here is a selection of the highlights:

Some of these were gained with the assistance of Carcassonne Central members; thank you once again for your kind help. This is what makes this community great to be a part of.

Let’s hope the fans of a certain cooperative game aren’t planning some sneaky last minute cooperation.

Looks like Carcassonne is holding its 30-odd margin. Fantastic, only got to hold out until midnight BGG Central Time.

Well done to everyone who voted.

+1 merit to the 30-odd who cast the winning votes. You know who you are.

Some of the comments in the poll are really good. This one is my favourite so far I think:

"Pandemic is as much a coop game as a group project is a group project. My vote goes to Carcassonne - the fluffy game with razor blades inside it."

General / Carcassonne needs your help - BGG Geek Madness Round 3 Vote
« on: April 08, 2022, 02:12:34 PM »
Dear fellow Carcassonne Central members,

Carcassonne is currently losing to Pandemic in this ‘voted for by fans’ poll and is in danger of being eliminated. If you like the idea of Carcassonne staying in contention, for fame, glory, and possibly greater presence on BGG, here is the link to the poll:

Cheers!
