I was able to obtain a good (box scuffs) to mint condition (game materials), unpunched, Big Box (1) by RGG.   I wanted this particular version since it has the original artwork style (which I've never owned), and included the tower.  Interestingly, not only did it include "the river" as mentioned on the box cover, it also contained "the River II" in one those mini boxes.  I don't recall seeing this mentioned in the wiki, and I doubt the seller just tossed it in, but who knows.

Lucky find!

The seller may have forgotten the River II... It is not the first time that you buy something and you find nice surprises like this. The seller may have gotten separatelly and stored it in the Big Box and later forgot about it.

Enjoy this glorius Big Box!!!

My first experience with Carcassonne was the 20th edition (just to see if I liked it), then Mists (Wife and I love playing that), and then buying lots of stuff from cundco (and trying to find all C3 with round corner prints).  Even though this big box has a lot of wasted space, it's miles better than the galaxy of waste from BB7.

Knowing all the wasted space in Big Boxes, BB7 was designed so you can store tuck boxes with minis inside. This is far better than the plastic inserts in previous Big Boxes trying to fill the space.

I might be able to contain myself until next year when maybe all the newly republished stuff will show up in the USA.  But missing out on the Pink and Purple meeples for players 7 and 8 is an itch that is starting.

You may get full wooden meeple sets in extra colors on Cundco... Pick your in:  ;)

But first I'm still trying to find a Winter C3 edition  :P

Ahhhh! After that you need to get a Winter-Summer transition fan expnasion and go crazy about combined games.... >:D

The guide looks awesome.

Why do you detail the scoring for farmers but not for roads, cities or monasteries?

+1 merit from me.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Advent Quiz even if you couldn't reply to all the questions.

Hope everything is back to normal now.

Thank you!

I'm now working on the litle surprise... I hope I can finish it soon. ^-^

Yes, you have:
* A field on the left.
* A small field top right.

[Q1] Does this tile have 1 or 2 fields? Do the trees separate the field between the cemetery and the city?

[A1] Theoretically you could even find 3 fields there.
Yes, this a tile which could have a better design. We can consider 2 fields. The big tree one the right separates the fields.

The trees in the cemetery separate the fields. There are several field patches visible among the branches, but we should see the branches as one block. It is just an artistic license and we should see only 2 fields on this tile.

I don't know I see only 1 field here.

This is a new installment of the same issue we discussed about betting offices and their flag poles in The Bets. Marcel Gröber is carried away by artistic licenses that clash with the expected canon.
