Amazon delivery today. For storing Carcassonne maps, I decided that rolled up in a tube was not ideal because it’s difficult to get them to lay flat. I sourced a relatively cheap 24”x36” artist portfolio on Amazon, which is just slightly larger than the A1-sized maps. A1 portfolios are more difficult to come by in North America.

Some of the reviews on Amazon warn you that these cheaper portfolios do NOT have rigid sides, so they do a very poor job of protecting the contents. Most people improvise by cutting some cardboard sheets. I decided for something more rugged and bought a 2-pack of 24”x36” coroplast sheets. The corrugated plastic sheets fit perfectly in the portfolio, and the maps are sandwiched between them.

There are a few sellers of those grids on Etsy. If you’re extremely OCD about having tiles perfectly aligned, I guess this is the solution. The challenge is that they don’t store compactly, so it’s yet another thing on the shelf.

I thought about the part that we have to move because the game ends up at the edge of the table, with this system we can shift the whole game without problem

Do Halflings fit nicely?

What about double-sized tiles? Are they a problem?

for the half tiles it's OK, on the other hand the doubles pose a problem, I have a plate which allows the double starting source tile.
Therefore excluded the castles and market of Lepzig

Nice one to receive!
I like the new bag design  ;D
Not sure if we should have discussions about the matching of blue colours though...

Got two sets of nature meeple flags from cundco's easter sale  :yellow-meeple:

I noticed they changed the type of wood.

Advent sale sets were made of plywood (bottom ones in the picture), and current ones are made of MDF wood (upper ones in the picture), probably to make them less easily breakable. They're indeed stronger and I'm less afraid of breaking them when attaching them to a meeple.

Also they now come unpunched in a wooden plate, and with a protective foil on both side.

@Willem, I think you have to make sure you have complete sets of both Advent AND easter sales  :yellow-meeple:

THEY'RE HERE!!!!! The last piece of C2 missing in my collection (except for the Spiel Promos... I consider those tiles lost in time  :)) I also got a pink set of flags for my sister and three maps: UK, USA East and USA West... coincidentally today also my credit card bill arrived... GULP!  :-X :@

Scott, those empty tiles make me so happy and sad at the same time... I have a lot of ideas for new tiles/custom expansions but I am not able to draw on them! Can I ask you what do you use to draw on them?

Congrats for completing this important milestone!

Never lose hope. Anything can happen.

... and remember, credit card bills are no good if they upset you.  >:D
