My first board games was probably matador(monopoly), ludo or chess.
The first 'modern' games I tried was (as I can recall) Hero Quest and Space Crusade - great games.
I usually played with my twin- and an older brother.
Later, we turned to Roborally, which is both fun, action packed and silly - a great combo!

Doomtrooper and Magic The Gathering aren't board games, but these were also played a lot during the 90's.

Now we mostly play Settlers(we don't trade), Torres, Bang or trivia-games.... And Carcassonne ofc. ;-).

You can play any way you want! Just make sure which house-rules to use, before you start playing.

I sometimes used all 14 "siege" tiles - why not?

Personally I'm not a huge fan of the half-tiles. Don't like that you start with them, and I think they are a little overpowered.

Regarding the new castles, I'm personally going to shuffle 4-6 creative tiles with the rest.
When you get a creative tile, you get to draw a random castle from a bag.
Any way. I'm still waiting for the mailman so I might change my mind

Btw, I agree that the castle expansion is more balanced. And I really like the design.

Anyway...
You first place a tile and then, afterwards, you place the builder.
This means that the tile was NOT "extending the road with the builder on it".
You will have to wait for the next turn to get the bonus tile -if you are lucky to get a road you can use to extend with.

I hope they stay with the old graphic for expansions. I like the style Carcassonne has now. I used to play Magic The Gathering 15-20 years ago. But after several graphic "upgrades", to the worse, imho, I  couldn't relate to itany longer. The new cards didn't have the same feeling. Anyway, I fear that 2.0 with take some of the soul from the game. I really like the simple graphic It has now. Keep it simple. :-)
