In 2012 I was pretty much in the same situation than Scott: I found the job that I still have today. So for me, too, later this year will be the 10th anniversary.  :)

But in parallel, at that moment, I still had my own practice and did an exciting new training which allowed me to introduce something very special in my offer of treatments.

Later that year, I discovered Bollywood! My goodness, this has not left me ever since!! Crazy crazy. The first movie was "Jodha Akbar", splendid. :(y) That was still on youtube. But the same year, fortunately, we got Hindi movies in movie theaters in Germany and here my first "real" Bollywood movie in the movie theater was "Jab Tak Hai Jaan". - sigh.  :) I got so hooked by some of the Bollywood songs that I practiced singing them loudly in my car every day on my way from/to the company, so I got really really good at it  ;D. And at the end of the year, I was already enrolled in Bollywood dance classes (I have always been a passionate dancer). The next year I began to learn Hindi language, but all this started in 2012!

The day the world should have come to an end according to Maya Calendar (at least this is what most of the people who do not know anything about the Mayan Calender thought) - 21.12.12 - I was celebrating the birthday of my closest and longuest friend.

I am not sure I played Carcassonne that year. I am German and coming from a family with long long board game tradition, so, obviously I have played Carcassonne when the game came out and every so often at family / friends gathering occasions. But at that moment, I did not even know that expansions existed. I only came to know this in 2017 (and then got hooked here, too  >:D)

Scott has been an admin for longer than I have; he's just not been so active over the last few years so you might have missed him. Decar and Meepledrone were both made Admins during the 5-week downtime period we experienced last year. I'm not quite sure where we'd be now without either of them!

Thanks for the explanation Dan.  I would have thought so... :)

Well then the website only now did catch up with reality ...  ;D
I was referring to the colours in which your names appear (see snapshot). I am pretty sure until yesterday or the day before, Meepledrone and Scott appeared in blue labeled Global Moderater (like kettlefish) and you and Decar appeared in red labeled Admin.
It doesn't matter, really, I just noticed it ...  ;)

Thanks @danisthirty for this well written, joyful and informative Newsletter.  :(y)

Its the first one I have ever read (I have only been active here for about 2 months) and to see my name mentioned came as a full surprise  ;D  Thanks  :-*

Good to see Supervisor Nick is back  ;D (quizzes are ALWAYS good  ;D) which reminds me that I still have questions concerning the Advent Quizz - so watch out @Meepledrone, more work is coming  >:D

I also very much like your bridge introduction, very nice idea  :(y)

To summarize: its a very nice mixture you got there and definitely supporting the community +1 merit from me

What I miss is:
an official announcement that @Meepledrone and @Scott have been promoted Admins (formerly they were Global Moderators if I recall well ... ).
Congratulations!!

oh, and yes, of course, congratulations @DINO!! well deserved  :(y)

Thanks for the clarification Decar, and ...

I would want people to be extremely considerate of PresetM's relationship with Klaus-Jurgen Wrede, and of his time.

... I completely agree with you.

Hi Decar, did you refer to something in specific?
I just now feel that there might be a misunderstanding here.

My first post where I say that I got never any reply was the continuation of a previous conversation in this post where we were wondering if Moritz did not know about the WikiCarpedia.
I said that I will write to him and tell him and that is what I did. I wrote to Moritz in December just after the Livestream, congratulated him to the anniversary and made him aware of the Wikicarpedia. That's all. There was never any point of writing to KJW.

My second post today here was to inform people that there is news about the cooperative game on CarcF.
PresetM there related from his visit last week to KJW with Udo.

Just feels a little weird now to get such a reply after my post.... making me wonder if there is a misunderstanding.

Anyway have somebody direct contact to KJW?

In fact, yes, today on CarcF website @PresetM posted some very interesting news on the cooperative game that KJW is currently developing. He has met him last week.
Here ist the link to the post: https://www.carcassonne-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=273&t=5503&sid=00122db0e564c5bf9e0c5ec07d1f6bcb

Just run the text through a translator. @PresetM made two posts, the second one is more specific concerning the rules

Anyway, I will write also myself to HiG as "simple" fan who has watched the anniversary live show and who realized that they do not know about the Wikicarpedia which I find personally a trumendous piece of fantasic work!
The more attenion the better  :)

Ha ha ha! Thanks!

I'm intrigued with their reaction.

Never got any reply  :(
