EDIT: I’ll try to contact the Queen via Twitter to see what colour meeples she usually prefers to have. I might even send her a Dan meeple and a CarcC business card if she responds!  :)

I can see it now:

Thanks Guy, I think I slipped you into the Tiles category.  I think its safe to say: it's cheaper for the individual to get just the tiles vs the the tiles with the magazine.

Seems like there's three groups:

Only want Tiles:
Koremu x2
Rosco x2
SRBO (seperate postage)

Wants Magazine:
Decar x2
DanisThirty

To Decide:
Curt194

Either

I've been looking at the Winter Edition Tiles implemented in JCZ and I think there is a small (unless you're a farmer) mistake:

JCZ uses the same tiles as this picture:

From BGG: https://boardgamegeek.com/image/1499736/carcassonne-winter-edition

Note that the top right CRrf tile has 3 fields in Abbey and Mayor, but only 2 in the Winter Edition.

Well done to Jere (not alt-gr again :()

Decar: 105
Jere: 151

After about 10 minutes I realized, I needed to strange strategy, but Jere basically sat on me the whole game.  I got two meeple trapped very early on; and when I had a good chance of glomming a Barn onto Jere's main barn, he beat me to it again.

I was silly to let you use the Abbey when I did, I should have probably left it until I had a barn in place.

Excellent play from Jere, very defensive and probably some of the best use of 'playing the edge' I've seen.

Funny moments:  Jere trapping my wagon and me drawing the RRRR tile to let it escape the next turn.
Me leaving a 5 point loop unattended thinking the FFRR tile wont come up just yet.   Jere got it the next turn for 6 points.

I was a tad unlucky at the end drawing all of the CCCX tiles and attaching them to an enormous city..... I just wanted it to end, but Jere threatened with his Mayor, so I was lucky to get points at all.  That could have been another 34 points, if I could just close it up.

So I think that puts me way down in 5th place and the larger Points Differential too :)

Great game Jere, thanks again for being patient so we could play!

That's a wrap for Group B!

Re: VAT

In the UK we have a Value Added Tax (VAT), which must be paid on pretty much everything we buy.  It's currently at 20%.  When Andrew sends something to the UK from NZ, we are expected to pay 20% of the item's value to the UK Government.  When posting the item he must declare it's worth eg: 100GBP.  In this case when the Item arrives in the UK, H&M Revenue and Customs will declare that a duty must be paid eg: 20GBP.  The delivery company will pay the cost and add an additional 8GBP for administration/handling.

So, if you buy something for 100GBP.  When it arrives you'll pay another 28GBP.

Hopefully Andrew will be able to assign a suitable cost on the items we, who ever picks up the bill doesn't need to pay the VAT.

SRBO, I'll PM you about Russian Tiles, but I should give Rosco first refusal as he missed out last time.

An amazing summary of what Carcassonne Central have achieved thanks to all its members!

I like seeing Dan in victory pose as a 'placeholder' for Carcking!

A big thank you to Jungleboy who posted:  Does anyone fancy a game tonight?  I probably would not have got started if he wasn't so friendly!

And a big thanks to Dan, who listens to all my usually off-the-wall ideas and more-often-than-not making good of them!

GReat photo, it's good to see all these starting tiles being used together!

There are lots of different setups that could work.

Now just to work them all out!

I like Option 1 the best, for the extra 45p postage + 74p for UK second class.  But this might not be so good for SRBO.  UK to Netherlands is about 2GBP.

Rosco am I sending you some home-made Russian Tiles too?

I've also got another Russian-Count box on the way; which will be looking for a home (Rosco/Koremu/Curt/SRBO?).

Perhaps I can bundles these together?

EDIT:  VAT charges are usually pretty simple: If an item's VAT is less than 8GBP they don't bother collecting it (I want to check this value but can't find at the moment).  VAT is 20% so items more than 40GBP are charged VAT.  Then delivery companies charge an extra 8 or 12 for paying the bill for you as a handling fee.

Sometimes I have seen the calculation be made on item+Postage; not just the item - and it's very difficult to reclaim.

DO NOT mark the item as a gift - I was once stung for a BOOK mis-labelled and in the UK we do not pay VAT on books.  I am not sure about magazines.

So using 35GBP as a good safety mark - I think that's about 77.9NZD.
