Still working through the Big Box. We are trying to play 2-3 games with each addition. Learning the rules and how to apply them is a bit of a challenge and reading the rules is much different than applying them. Difference in theoretical and practical knowledge :-)

Thanks for input all. I cleaned-up with all the mini-expansions on Cundco. Getting in bulk from Europe made sense, even with shipping costs, compared to the high prices charged on eBay for US resellers. I'm looking at reselling my first base set cheap on eBay and then keeping the Big Box along with all the mini-expansions. I also added Abbey and Mayor as well as Bridges, Castles, and Bazaars since those seem to keep with the spirit of the game without introducing radically new dimensions. I'll also get an Anniversary edition in May to round out the set.

English version also avialable:

For the meeples...I understand the red knight. I understand the yellow farmer/herder. I don't get the blue lumberjack. Maybe a new twist?

Except the new tiles, I miss something that makes it a collectors item. Stickers are funny but no extra worth imo. The box.. Yeah most of us have combined all expansions in one big box, so nothing to gain there. They should’ve added another ‘special’ meeple, and use the 15 cards as a new expansion to go with it. It is because of their 20th anniversary!

So for me, unless the price is right, there’s too little to make it worth buying. Sadly.

I do hope they’ll announce more but as it’s now, there won’t be anything ‘special’ that’ll convince me, else they would’ve already announced it.

I understand, but you are looking for craftsmanship and quality of yesteryear. These days, business models are all about selling more. So, they can sell the 20th Anniversary Edition in May and then another Big Box that incorporates some of the new features a few months later...that way people buy 2 instead of 1. Because those who are likely to buy the anniversary edition are likely to buy both anyways. Big boxes buyers are less likely to buy both. It's just business. Sadly.

Nice, release date May 28, 2021. That's a Friday. This is my first rodeo. Is Cundco the best place to buy?

What makes you both so confident after playing with 84 tiles that you'll enjoy the experience with 400+ ? It just seems like such a huge leap.
Hey, it's what she asked for. Happy wife, happy life.

Indeed, we already have a second edition with the Abbot and River. We're now looking at getting a big box 2017 plus expansions 3, 5 & 8. We have a bunch of kids, so with numerous players gotta have a bunch of tiles. Those bathhouses, cathedrals, and castles are pretty hot though...

Putting all those together would really only mean that a couple of duplicate tiles (and several sets of meeples) wouldn't be usable...probably the river beginning and ends. But everything else we could use together I believe. But in case a meeple ends up in someone's nose, we'd have replacements handy.

How'd the guy with the world record of a 10k+ tile game get all those?

Thanks folks. The major expansions that looked interesting are 1, 2, 3 (potentially mostly for the tiles since user experience is mixed about the content), 5 & 8. But that only gets to about 100 extra tiles. I don't suppose that there are any large, general lots like one can buy with legos? I have to admit that some of the custom/limited edition ones like the castles and abbeys are really well done and are enticing...but just so few in number.

My lady is really enjoy v2 with the River and Abbot. She'd like to get to like 450 tiles or so. Thoughts on the best way to get there?

BTW, what's up with all the hard security questions to answer? Too much spam before?
