Here are some pictures - a small look to the next coming Carcassonne - Around the World #2:
the riddle at HiG this week:
The new Carcassonne - Around the World (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/gewinnspiel/gewinnspiel)
-
Wow!!! :(y) ;D
-
English name is pretty obvious :)
As I understood correctly, we need to offer a German name for this game in order to take part in a lottery, am I right?
In this case I will ask for a help from my wife ;)
-
I think any ordinary translation-machine will do!
-
I'm just going to go and say Wilder Westen. I'm quite happy with this new game and sad that I won't be able to get it for a few years. I hope Z-man bundles it with its inevitable winter expansion, at least. Friday really should have been bundled with South Seas in the US market.
-
Finally they released something about the new spin-off! It was eating me up inside not saying anything :-X ... It's going to be interesting to see what the mechanics are!
-
We can have here our own riddle:
Where do the Meeple go on tour this time?
-
We can have here our own riddle:
Where do the Meeple go on tour this time?
I'm going with the Yukon Territory of Canada.
-
We can have here our own riddle:

I'm going with the Yukon Territory of Canada.
I like that more than California ::)
-
What kind of work do the Meeple?
-
What kind of work do the Meeple?
Miners, saloon owners, gunslingers...
-
I believe that there will be no roads but rivers where you search for the gold. Maybe there could be a rail, but I see it quite strange.
-
Yeah, that depends on the actual theme. If it's Wild West, then the railroad would make more sense to have than dirt roads. If it's the Gold Rush, then roads would make more sense – railroads weren't in the west that early.
-
I’m not quite sure what we’re supposed to be guessing but here are a couple of (fairly obvious) names I like the sound of:
- Carcassonne: Wild West
- Carcassonne: Cowboys and Indians ?
- Carcassonne: Gold Fever/ The Gold Rush
(can someone please point me in the right direction if I’m barking up the wrong tree here?)
As for the mechanics, I have no idea. But I like the idea that a meeple in a city (or equivalent) could be a Sheriff! I also like to imagine that horses could be involved somehow, and that points could be quite closely linked to gold or discovering it somehow.
-
Carcassonne: Back to the Future Part III :)
-
Ha ha! That was on my list too but I removed it before posting as it was too silly! 8)
-
Dan - I have a sheriff and thief fanspansion. I will tell you about it soon
-
From the HiG-website:
wie wird denn das 2. Spiel der Serie heißen? Wir suchen den deutschen Titel. Die Fotos geben euch sicherlich einen kleinen Tipp. Auch, wenn dieser womöglich in der falschen Sprache zu sehen ist ;)
What will be the name of the 2nd game of the series? We are looking for the german title.
The photos give a hint. Although it is possibly in a wrong language
In the photos there is only one hint in a non-german language - I think you only have to translate in into german.
-
Thanks Fritz_Spinne, I guess I should have read earlier posts more carefully...
In that case my suggestion is: Explorations-und der Goldrausch
-
Carcassonne: Back to the Future Part III :)
Hilarious!
-
The German rules are now great, because of our correction reading.
I like the new game, but I can't say more about it.
-
a first picture for "Goldrush":

Nice ;)

At Carcassonne-Forum (CarcF) we have almost the same discussion about this new game...
Here is the link to CarcF:

Wow...what a different cover...not at all what I was expecting.
Very different look from the other Carc games. Very Grindhouse-esque.
I like it though, wonder what the tiles and components look like.

I like the tiles and the other components of this game...
The cover changes during that time when I did the correction reading of the rules...
So the cover of the German rulebook is a bit different than that picture from the link some postings above.

Here is a link to BGG - Carcassonne Goldrausch - started by member Bartosz Popow (BartP)

Here comes the cover of the final version:

Can't wait to try it! I hope that it will be available at Spiel 2014?

Yes, the German version will be availble at Spiel 2014 in Essen

Here comes almost the following information what I have written to Scott by email:
Hi Scott,
I think there is some confusion about the cover of "Carcassonne Goldrausch".
The design of the cover comes from the graphic artist who works for HiG.
This picture shows an early graphic long before the final cover version was finished.
Game overview based on a prototype (http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1225959/game-overview-based-prototype)
This picture shows the final version of the cover - HiG has the same cover (not only ZMG and filosophia).
Carcassonne - Gold Rush - ZMG (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/2227130/carcassonne-gold-rush)
I did 3x correction reading during the work of the German rules for HiG.
But all the covers which I have seen hadn't the layout like this one from the first link above. All the covers I have seen have the Indian...
During my correction reading the cover changes a bit more...
I will ask HiG if I am allowed to post the different covers later...
Please say some words at CarcC facebook, that the cover comes originally from HiG even the layout of the ZMG version...
And that HiG will have also this cover. (see the second link).

And now BGG has a listing for an expansion: Carcassonne: GoldRausch (Gold Rush) - Der Sheriff! Does anyone have any information about this?

Here comes a part of the rule book:
I did the correction reading of the German rules (together with maik63de and Ratz65...).
-
Do you have any idea when the full rule book will be available? I can't wait to do my (typical) English translation!
-
Here comes a picture

:(y)
It looks like there’s a lot going on in that picture.
Having read the rules, does it seem simple enough to understand compared with, say, South Seas?

No, it is not like South Seas.
Klaus-Jürgen Wrede told me last year, that his birthday present "Birthday in the Land of Cockaigne" reminded him of the use of the tokens similar to Carcassonne Goldrush.

Looks good! Can't wait!
-
Agreed! I am looking forward to this one as well!
-
It's strange that no one has posted in this thread for a while. Anyway, I just received the German rules for both Gold Rush and The Sheriff, and I'm going to do my usual translations into English. I'll post the files here as soon as I'm finished.
-
At HiG are the German rules online:
Carcassonne-Goldrausch (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/fileadmin/data_archive/Regeln/Carc_Goldrausch_Regel_Web_.pdf)
At CarcF are the German rules online:
Carcassonne - Goldrausch (http://www.carcassonne-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=204&t=1899)
Mini "Der Sheriff" (http://www.carcassonne-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=208&t=1968)
-
And here is my English self-translation of the rules. English rules for The Sheriff mini-expansion coming soon…

As always, comments and corrections are welcome. I am really liking the rules for this game!
-
Hi wamboyil,
I can't see that this is a fan-made translation.
-
Hi kettlfish,
I'm not sure if I understand your comment. I really did do all the work on this myself (as I have done for many Carcassonne items in the past). I started with the original German PDF from HiG, opened each page in Adobe Illustrator, and then took each page apart piece by piece so I could isolate only the text parts, then inserted the English translation, and re-saved it back to a new PDF.
I enjoy doing it, for the community as well as for myself. This way, I don't have to wait for the English version of the game, and I can get the HiG version now! :)
-
Yes, but HiG will never give an original English version of the German rules.
At your document I can't find who did the translation. It is really not official.
The only official English version of the rules is by Z-man games.
-
Yes, but HiG will never give an original English version of the German rules.
I believe that's why he did it?
-
All kettlefish is saying is that since the translation isn't endorsed by HiG or ZMG, wamboyil should put his own name in it as the translator. I don't thing the term "Fan Translation" is necessary, perhaps something more like "Translated by Wamboyil for CarcassonneCentral" or something like that. Thus the fan part is implied but not awkward.

Thanks whaleyland,
Yes, that is it what I like to have on that document.
-
Yes, it's good to distinguish this as a fan-made translation so that we know it's more accurate than the official English rules that will be published by Z-Man Games. >:D
Excellent work, as always, wamboyil! I'm really excited to get my hands on this game.

I've uploaded a new file for the Carcassonne: Gold Rush English rules, adding the "English translation by…" statement as suggested by kettlefish. Here is the new link (the old one is not valid anymore):

Merit for you...

When will the English edition be officially released?
It was sold out at Essen, but can't find it yet on Amazon and such.
