Title: Brettspiel Adventskalender Promos
Post by: Decar on October 27, 2015, 03:09:27 PM
I got this today - Some of the promos are spoken for (W/E Crop Circles), but there's a complete list below.

If you'd like one of them they cost: £2 each.

A rough estimate for postage is £1 UK, £2.50 EU , £3.50 US. Not sure about NZ/AUS I think £2.50.  I'll get more accurate postage as required.

Let me know if there's anything you're interested in; or want to know more about.

So I realise that Cacao has already gone, however if anyone else happens to have a spare of this going I'd be interested.

Decar what's the power grid promo? May be interested in that one

It looks to me like a possibility to connect two cities for free.

I would pick up the Targi and Splendor promos, if available!

Cheers,

Most of what I'm interested in is gone, but can you post photos of Power Grid and Bohnanza?

Hey....my pictures... :D

The Power Grid promo can only be used with the Germany map. It reduces connection cost between certain connections. On the back of the tiles are the city names where to place them.

Not to hijack this thread, but I also have several promos left if anyone's interested. Although I guess the most popular promos are already taken.

Hi Decar if you still have the power grid promo I'm happy for it to go to CKorfmann as I wouldn't be able to use it (no Germany map).

Isn't Germany on the back of the USA map?

Thanks Curt, I meant to bring it to the meetup and totally forgot.  I've let CKorfmann have next dibs.

Carcassonne is crossed out, but this isn't showing up on tapatalk. Another thing to add to the list of issues with the forum on tapatalk.

I didn't realize how cheap this one was, if one would compare the total cost. For me it ended up 2.40 Euro for each of the 24 promos (including shipping).

It arrived yesterday and I've seen the photos of it but never realised how huge the calendar box actually is! Photo will hopefully be uploaded tomorrow with many other things acquired that I haven't had the time to share with you guys. One is even a rare find!

I'm tempted to buy another calendar.  8) Mine is not opened yet, will open them each day from December 1st thru 24th.

That's odd. I recently bought a compilation (http://www.ebay.de/itm/7-verschiedene-Spiele-Junta-7Wonders-Wizard-Andor-/391322798495?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=RxvyLjkeDFRAFZI3jmbzhJYxSjo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc) of games on ebay, primary because of "7 Wonders" and "Andor", "Taj Mahal" sounded as well interesting to me, and now I noticed, that one of the real old games, I've never heard off before bidding, Wizard (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1465/wizard), seems to be among the included games???

So, if this is true and still available, I would be definitely interested!

Hello Tom, you'd be willing to sell the promo 11 "loony quest," I have bought the game today and I wanted to, as long as you have not already sold it.

I've still got it - I watched a playthrough of Loony Quest last week - looks fun I hope you enjoy it.  I'll add it to the package I'm collecting here for you - don't worry about the £2 - you'll have done enough for The Falcon and many other things  :(y)

Hi Gents,

I just picked up a used copy of Glass Road and and am considering buying Fields of Arle.

Would anyone still have a copy of these promos?

Thanks!

Yep, they're still in my pile!

I may be picking up the new ones at Essen, so take a look if there are any more you want!

No worries Ive put them aside for you. Fields and Aryle looks terrifiying, but I might have to look at Feast for Odin if I get the chance!

I know what you mean with FoA. The good thing and what gives me confidence to try some of his heavier titles, is that there are many overlapping mechanisms in his games to make learning them a little easier. But, yes, the complexity of choices in his games can still be overwhelming!

Im embarrassed to say my only Uwe Rosenburg game is 'Patchwork', which was pretty good, but with a terrible theme.

'Cottage Garden' seems similar, so it's on the list too!

So that's where I knew the name from! It's a big hit in our house too...

Sorry to comment so late, but I just noticed this... From what I understand, Cottage Garden is simply a 4-player reimplementation of Patchwork with a different theme.

On a separate note, did anyone buy the new Advent promos and are you selling them?

Yes, this is exctly what it is. It was very popular at Essen so we never got to demo it but it sounds like it was very rushed and there were a number of production problems that weren't properly solved with it.

I've been 'following' Cottage Garden since Essen because it might be junglegirl-friendly. I wouldn't quite call it rethemed Patchwork for four players. Firstly, it's for 2-4 players. Secondly, it's lighter/easier than Patchwork and more forgiving if you have gaps in your board.

The production problem is that the board is two-sided depending on the player count, but the publishers (Edition Spielwise) accidentally printed the same board on both sides on the first print run. They then included stickers that you can put on one side to allow you to play it properly. Pegasus Spiele is co-publishing and their edition is supposed to be out this month. I'm waiting for the board issue to be corrected before I buy it.

Yeah, that's what I've heard too. I was deciding between Patchwork and the newly-released Cottage Garden for my birthday last month, and ended up going with the older Patchwork, even though I much prefer the theme of Cottage Garden, because 1) I mostly play games with my wife, just 2-player and, 2) the reviews of both games led me to believe (whether rightly or wrongly) that Patchwork had more strategic depth and thus (I figure) more replayability.
