Hi. Sorry if this has been discussed before. Is the data from the inventory tables on this page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Collections_and_Expansions) up to date? My collection is quickly growing and I'd like to have a complete and reliable list to check what I have and what I don't have. Thank you to anyone willing to reply me.
-
You can check these links:

Later edit: The inventory from Carcassonne Central is up to date, too, as far as I know (but Fog over Carcassonne is not released yet).

Thank you for your reply.

I don't think it is, or maybe I misunderstood something.
In the timeline I see "The Festival" and "Castles in Germany" have been published in C3 version.
But in the inventory table from the Collections and Expansions page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Collections_and_Expansions) the only C3 pieces are "Base game", "The Peasant Revolts", "The Signposts" and "The Gifts"
-
Ah yes!
I have added the pictures to the grid of unboxed expansions, but not yet to the inventory table at the top. Will do that today!

Ok! So from what I understand I can use those tables as a full and complete list to check what I'm missing right? Thnk you for all you do on the sites, it's great :green-meeple:
-
I've updated the table to include the Festival and Castles in Germany C3.
We try to keep the Collections&Expansions page, as well as it's table of contents, to be as complete as possible, and to be a complete list of everything released.
(official releases only)
If there is anything missing from the page or the table, do let me know either here or in the comments on the page, so we can update :)
-
(official releases only)
Yes! Exactly what I needed, thank you so much
-
no worries!
I've also added Fog over Carcassonne to the Timeline and the Collections&Expansions page. It's set to release next month, and the Dutch version has also been announced, so both the German and Dutch boxes are on there :)
-
Just another question on the Collections & Expansions page. Why are only the Russians editions treated as "specials" and not (for example) the dutch, italian or french ones?
-
You mean the Russian big boxes and other compilations?
That is because they are compilations that were unique and not released in other languages.
The big boxes that have been released with the same contents across different languages are listed of course as well, but grouped together as they have the same content
-
That is because they are compilations that were unique and not released in other languages.
Ooh I understand. Well I don't think I will ever manage to get them then ;D
-
They have gotten more and more difficult to get indeed.
We try to keep the C&E as up to date as possible (I've got a new discovery to add to it one of these days), and show a complete overview of all boxes (officially) released. And items get a row based on contents, and then the columns are for the language/publisher ;D
Apart from it being a great reference tool, it's also my personal shopping list hahaha
-

I'm turning it in mine too ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
This page is creating monsters!!! :o
-
Oh you have seen nothing yet...
-
The C&E page is based on boxes mainly, and title of releases, rather than differences between certain releases
For example, C2.0 and C2.1 have not been split out.
But yes, there is so much more information to be researched!
-
Oh you have seen nothing yet...
It was HUMBLING. I completed my C2 collection, bought some spin offs and I was all like "woah I'm a true collector (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DO1tiGCM20fDl-to2Aat-NRFlaspjF4LjE5sG3gpoE8/edit?usp=sharing)". Then I noticed how many things I still miss... ;D Very very humbling
-
Seeing that list i'd say you're already a big collector of the game!
And every collection is unique, which makes the collecting for Carcassonne so much fun :D
(Plus, 'complete' is always relative, as we'll always find something else that you'll need to be 'complete' ;)
-
I agree. The collection is never trully "complete" because complete means something different for everybody. One can always push the boundaries a little further, as I myself have done several times since I started collecting Carcassonne.
-
I used the word "completed" meaning "I own one copy of every piece of C2 included in this list". Of course I guess the reality of things is way less strict. For example, I may buy versions of expansions from other countries, or publishers and so on... but for now, I'm OK like this. Now I'm trying to understand what's the best way to retrieve all of those little pieces of C1... eBay seems to be a friend in this! C:-)
-
I think most of us are happy enough just to have one of everything, or as close to one of everything as we can get. Only a few people feel the need to collect every permutation.
My particular weakness is when I run out of official things to buy, I start looking for unofficial things to buy, which sometimes means designing things myself.

Yeah, since GeekMarket is preparing to exit local reality :(
My particular weakness is when I run out of official things to buy, I start looking for unofficial things to buy, which sometimes means designing things myself.
Luckily I have no interest in unofficial stuff, so that is one rabbit hole I will never fall into :D
But I'm sure there will be more official stuff for you (us all) to search for.
-
We are all in need of new missions: getting something official, un-official or building anything... This is why this all is such a great fun! 8)
-
I've got all the official stuff, but also don't have all the official stuff.....
So I'll keep collecting ;)
-

I think you summarise it quite well here. I also used to set myself certain goals of things I needed to find and get hold of, then when I'd got them all I'd realise that *actually* I also needed x, y and z. And guess what? When I got x, y and z the goalposts moved again and I needed something else to be truly "complete", and so on. And on. And on. :o
-
;)
-
No Carcassonne collection is complete without a Bertie Meeple!!!
-
Which one is that? Or is it the meeple in hat from the rules?
-
Yes, ha ha ha!

It was an inside joke!
-
I would totally want to have an official physical Bertie meeple if they ever realese him :(y) I still wonder who sneaked that in??

Just finished organizing my collection in its current state, after retrieving A LOT of infos from the infamous Collections and Expansions page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Collections_and_Expansions):
(https://i.postimg.cc/htD6gRHM/PXL-20220903-154557000-PORTRAIT.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
Since I've spent the whole Saturday doing this I'm also sharing the results with you, just because :)
I basically listed each and every "piece" of content from every Carcassonne container I own. Then I put everything in a table so now I can promptly answer useless questions like "How many red meeples do I own? And where are they exactly?".
Yeah I know I need a life but I'm waiting for the postman to deliver eleven (11) new more Carcagoodies... I can't afford to have a life O0
-
Ahhhh! What a delightful picture and what a magnificent set of Excel tables summarizing everything. Hope the experience was somewahat rewarding after listing everything under your belt.
Congrats!!!

I have a doubt about Crop Circles.
The Collections and Expansions page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Collections_and_Expansions) lists Crop Circles I as an unboxed expansions, but the related page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Crop_Circles_(1st_edition)) specifies there's actually two versions of the expansion:
- Crop Circles I (standalone expansion in punchout format)
- Crop Circles II (tiles included in the other minis, one each)
Now, it seems to me the tiles from I and II are exactly the same, with no difference whatsoever. Can anyone confirm this? Since my goal is to get one version for every piece of content, it's quite important to me so I know if I'm already satisfied as I am right now or if I have to dive deeper and look around for the punchout ;D

The tiles are different and can be found at
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Crop_Circles_(1st_edition)
-
Unfortunately Crop Circles I is different and very hard to come by.
Good luck, prices on BGG range from 150-250 euros for the six tiles.
-
They are not the same!!!
CCI has tiles with a different layout and has been included in special editions of german base game and also at CundCo at one time.
CCII is collected from the 6 minis from 2012 or from BB4 (in C1 at least). You can find tile differences on wica.
-
Oh boy, I completed missed out on the tiles configuration... let's dive deeper then...
-
CC 2 is not listed on the C&E page, as it was never released as a standalone expansion.
As said, it was only available through collecting the 6 C1 mini's, or in BB4, and for C2 in BB6 and C3 in BB7
The rules are the same though.
So I guess that could be considered missing from the C&E page ;D

I don't think it's missing. I think it's correct that it's not listed in the C&E page. Maybe the best thing is to rename Crop Circles I into Crop Circles, since that page talks about both I and II, what do you think?
In other news, now I want to play a game with base game + FOUR crop circles expansions, the three IIs I already own and the I that I still have to get... if I aver manage to do that ;D

Intristing is, that FFFF tile changed - added Watertower. Something is comming for them, finaly?

Watertowers, but no besiegers... Why not both? :(
-
It will be for the C IV version in a few years... ^-^
-
Ok I have yet another question. I own the following box, and I saved it as "Base Game C1" in my collection.
(https://i.postimg.cc/15fxyvq3/PXL-20220913-210253871-MP.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
But I just noticed that the Collections & Expansions page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Collections_and_Expansions) includes a "Basegame with river" piece in the "Limited editions" section... and this indeed *is* the basegame with rivers. Then I noticed that the box image for this version is included - Italian column - for both the Base Game row ("2nd edition Venice Connection") AND the Basegame with river one ("Venice Connection").
So... how should I consider this one? Now I think I should save this box as "Basegame with river" instead, and look for a version of the Base game without the river... O:-)
I hope I explained my doubt clearly. Keep in mind that my goal is to own one every piece of Carcassonne (no matter the version) and I'm using the C&E page as reference.
-
We've put the base games with river with their own row as well, but it is also part of the "normal" run of C1 base games.
This older Italian one stands fairly by himself, but for example RGG included the river in their 3rd edition, then not in their 4th edition, and then back in their 5th edition (of the top of my head)
So base games with river expansion are listed twice indeed.
-
And for reference;
In my filing, I've got this one listed as Base Game Box Art: Maiden, Publisher: Venice Connection, Contents: Base Game + River, Edition: 2nd edition
-

So if I understand correctly you consider this box filling the "Limited editions, Big Boxes, Spiel, Russian and more > Basegame with river" slot, not the "First edition > Base game" one, right?
-
In my file, it fills both, because it is both
-
Similarly, the King&Scout boxed mini expansion is listed twice.
Once as the King expansion for C1 Carc, and once as the Scout expansion for Hunters&Gatherers ;D

The French edition published by Filosofia also included La rivière, unlike the older HIG editions.
-
Ok thank you for your inputs, I have to rethink how to file my collection then. Personally I see that a base game box without river is a different item/entity than a base game box including a river expansion. For how I intended my collection to be, I should (or better, would like to) own both.
-
This shouldn't be too complicated, the base game without the river is the most popular edition of the game.
-
For how I intended my collection to be, I should (or better, would like to) own both.
i agree ;D
-
I have a question about the bundles included in the Variants page of the wiki (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Variants#Bundles).
Are the items in these bundles "special" in any way or are they just the base items that I can find anywhere, bundled together?
-
They are not special, just regular boxes wrapped together by shrinkwrap. Also note that this list of bundles is nowhere near exhaustive - there are tens if not hundreds of other bundles not included there, released in various countries by various sellers.
-

Thank you, I'll remove them from my wishlist then, together with all the russian things
-
Jut to make a distiction clear, there are other items sometimes also called "bundles", which do have a unique box or box art. These also include base game + some expansion(s). On WICA they are called limited editions.
-

Yes these are definitely in my wishlist (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DO1tiGCM20fDl-to2Aat-NRFlaspjF4LjE5sG3gpoE8/edit#gid=0) O:-)
-
That reminds me, i think i've got a bundle of a C1 base game + exp 1 & 2 in german, all sealed and then sealed together, which i don't think is on the WICA. Might have to add it soon :o
-
So much work left to do! :o
