I really don't like how crowded cities are right now.
They are celebrating!

It seems like they're addressing some of the issues with rivers creating large farms too.

My wife will love this. She'll be giddy over this one with splitting the fields on the source and one of the lakes. At least I still get one lake with a rounded field to use my farmers and piggies! -  :pink-meeple:

Oh great, thanks Allograft!
Something to read.

Hmm, so both lakes are at the bottom of the River stack, a.k.a. no premature stopping of the river.
The double-tile is a single tile.
There are easter eggs refering to games other than Carcassonne family.
Even the score track has updated graphics.

Jubilee Expansion rules:

there are 5 tiles for each arrow symbol. Each refers to one already released expansion.

1) Placing the tile

-if you place a tile with an arrow NOT pointing to any tile, it does not activate and the player who placed it recieves 2 points.
-if it is placed so that the arrow points to an adjacent already placed tile, the symbol activates.
-if a normal tile is placed next to a tile with an arrow symbol, so that it points to it, the symbol activates.

2) Placing a follower

You place the follower as normal, but if the symbol was activated then:

double-meeple symbol = instead of normal placement, you can place a follower next to one of your followers already in play. (just like crop circles) you cannot exceed 2 followers per tile in this way.

meeple arrows symbol = instead of normal placement, you can place a follower on any incomplete, unclaimed feature (just like magic portal)

3) Scoring

two-tile symbol = after scoring you draw another tile and get another whole turn. No chain reactions (just like builder) If you activate the other two arrow symbols in the extra turn, you can use those.

---
If you activate multiple symbols on your turn, you can only choose one of them.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it: confirmation that the watermark for the new tiles will be a plain semi-opaque "20". It's visible on all of the tiles with the blue arrows. However, it's not on the new River tiles, suggesting HiG considers those a part of the base game and it also may imply that the "20" tiles will be made available separately but the new River tiles will not be.

Also, the new river tiles don't have the same wavy lines as Big Box 5 and 6 rivers. -  :pink-meeple:

That makes sense, though. In both of those Big Boxes, Hans im Glück advertises the River I as an expansion rather than a part of the core set, while in all of the new base game boxes, River I is considered a core part of the base game (albeit one with additional rules). Since this anniversary edition is still the base game and not a Big Box, it wouldn't make sense for HiG to add watermarks for the River tiles. The Jubilee 20 tiles, on the other hand, are likely to be sold separately (like they were in the 10th Anniversary Edition) and will probably be on their own punch sheet in the box.

As far as I understood this part of the rules, the limit imposed is that you cannot place more than two meeples together in this way. That is, you cannot group 3 o more meeples in this way. However, the rules do not imply this affects the whole tile.

So you may have one meeple placed directly and another one placed by a symbol tile. Then you could add another meeple next to each meeple with other symbol tiles, ending up with 4 meeples on a tile in this case.

Yes, that is what I meant.

You can add more, using effects outside of the Jubilee Expansion (i. e. an actual Crop Circle)

If you mean adding more than two meeples purely by symbol tiles from this Jubilee Expansion, then no you cannot do that.

In your perspective, is it that the cities now have too many buildings? What makes you assess them as being badly cut? -  :pink-meeple:
