Strategy Guide / Re: Tactical Tuesday -- Week 03

I think one option is not considered.
Rotated tile by 90° in Option A.
This option will allow to occupy unoccupied city and place city tile to protect from "easy" invasion. And also Black motivation to finish his road.

What do you think? (I'm not saying that it's best option :D, again). And I hope that I'm not blind to any circumstances which disallow it :D

Well. I'm thinking about Option E on [-3;-1] to join roads and place meeple to field.
This will join fields with cities into big one field.
Not sure if this option is the  best, but it is missing in possible placements which can affect gray player

Hi Bumsakalaka, do you mean complete the loop road at (-2,-1)? There is a newly placed Black farmer at (-1,-2) that you might not have spotted. This tile would connect to Black's existing field so Grey's only placement option would be into the new city, and it would also score the road for Red and Black and return their meeples. My apologies if I have misinterpreted anything.

To me it is decision between A and B, and I choose B.

A gives you two nice mid sized cities, but neither of them might close and it ties up two meeples. If neither completes, as it stands that is only 7 points for two meeples which isn't great.

B scores a 12 point city (that Red obviously also shares) and returns your meeple. The farmer claims what is already a reasonable field (6 points, maybe 9) and there is still a decent chance of connecting into Black's field at (-2,-1). Depending on how things develop and where cities get completed, it might be better for Grey to try to keep Black out, or to try to connect and dominate.

It is a big gain for Red (12 points for only 1 tile and 1 meeple) but better for Grey.

C gives Grey and Red the 12 points and claims a road but Grey loses out on the field and with two cities already completed it would be a tempting target for the other players.

This is fun. Thanks again kothmann.
As I wrote I has to be blind. I didn't saw black meeple on field.
My bad.

I think you made a little mistake in the topic title  ;)

How many *meeples* can be on one tile in a game.
But uuhm I've actually never had more than 3 meeples on one and the same tile (not counting the acrobats).

Thanks for correction. I was trying to create topic over Tapatalk (Mobile App), but without success, so don't check tile then when coping texts from email.

Anyway, that's the points, Imagine tile with Acrobats, 1 city, 1 road, 2 fields, with for expample Magic Portals can be occupied with multiple other meeples! Try it

Official Rules / Re: Can I place a bridge on a halfling
« on: September 20, 2021, 02:12:10 AM »
No by rules, no be logic of game.

Rules for Halflings with clarrification by HiG said that halfling represend full place of square when counted scoring or occupied place on board.
Rules for Bridge said that bridge can be placed over tile for field/field edges, but not over Acrobat place for Pyramide (Big Top Large Expansion).

So. You requested placement not follow rules field/field on edges, because, end of bridge will be placed on board (table), not on other halfling.

When situation will be other, that halfling on currently not occupied place will be placed, and you place this tile, and it will be possible to place bridge over two halflings, then it will be possible due to rule of "one place = square".

Maybe need to ask on german forum? Hmm...

This is a challenge about perfect game of 6 players which plays cooperative game in best order of tiles as possible plays Carcassonne basic game new design (possible 20th anniversary edition), all official large expansions, mini expansion, promos always in newest design if possible (Catapult, Plague, Tunnels are only in old design).
Try to create sequence of tiles and placing meeples and use game mechanics and rules. (Imagine, that you get required tile from Stack and also when some "random" issue like to roll dice, you will get required result).

What is your highest number of meeples on one tile at moment of finish of player turn?

(Placement from City of Carcassonne is not counted because at the end of turn those meeples are returned to players' supply).

Counted are all meeples from expansions (19 per player), Fairy, Mag, Witch, Dragon, Count, Big Top).

(This challenge I "borrow" from czech forum and author is LunarHexagon)

Official Rules / Re: petul rules queries (WICA)

@petul this is great idea to write rules corrections. It will be good to create some warning box for rules differences. Maybe include also clarifications from HiG to prove that is wrong rules.
And give info to Mindok about this "Errata"

General / Re: Cathedrals in Germany Defect?
« on: September 16, 2021, 06:45:45 AM »
Hello everyone,
I have noticed that my Cathedrals in Germany tiles have noticeably lighter backs than my other tiles.  This makes them identifiable from the back when drawing them out of anything other than a bag.  Does anyone else have this same issue with these tiles?  I'm considering ordering a second set of Cathedrals in Germany with the hopes that the replacement won't have this issue, but I won't do so if the whole run of them had this problem.

This is in new or old edition?

Well. It need to check how many players are in game and how many tiles is in deck.

So 4 players means 71/4 of tiles per player which is 18 for first three players and 17 for last one.
So there is also need to calculate this that invasion to farm can be difficult and also impossible in some scenarious.

Well. In that case, there are too many cocks in one yard.
So Option B is nice start for Field battle on end of the game. Currently has ľ finished cities = 6 points, but preparation for next 3 so possible 15 points on end of the game.
Options A is also nice, because after placement of tile, yellow player is on same situation like before placement, plus 4 points.
Option C/D is fine. But benefit is small. Option D allow to preparation of block finishing of large city on north. but there are 4 players. So not big deal. Option C can be preparation to invide into city, but with big effort and needs big luck to finish it. But it allows to add tile on top right road by black and block all players meeples.
I choose B

This week quiz is more tactical like first one. I like it.
Due to score of meeples not coresponds situation on board:
Black has 2 points, but there are non finished 2 tiles road (for example).
It will be good to tell, how many tiles are in stack (deck).

Nice. I like Bang! Expansions and this one looks like one of them. I'm curious when new cars from deck will be taken and to wgich player will be applicable.
