As I'm always looking for the opportunity of a merit,
I've collected a few pre-order URLs for Carcassonne 20th Anniversary edition in the United Kingdom.
In no particular order.
Boardgameguru - £40 + £3.75 postage
https://www.boardgameguru.co.uk/carcassonne-20th-anniversary-edition-101422-p.asp
Zatu - £43 + £3 postage... buy 5 for 5% off etc [I've had terrible service in the past, and Rich The Fish reports bad preorder handling]
Board game hut - £46 + free postage
https://www.theboardgamehut.co.uk/product/carcassonne-20th-anniversary-edition/
ChaosCards - £50 + free post
https://www.chaoscards.co.uk/prod/c/carcassonne-20th-anniversary-edition
Thirsty Meeples - £41 + £4 shipping (free over £50)
https://thirstymeeples.co.uk/products/carcassonne-20th-anniversary-edition
Tritex Games - £40 + £4 postage (free over £50)

Boardgameextras - £42 + £3.50 postage

Titan Games - £40 + £2.99 postage
https://www.titangamestore.co.uk/game-store/Carcassonne-20th-Anniversary-Edition-preorder-p331795040
MeeplesCorner - $41.95 + £4.99 postage
https://meeplescorner.co.uk/product/carcassone-20th-anniversary-edition-board-game/
Rules of Play - £45 + free postage (OR £40.50 with GEN-BGPRICES) code.
https://rulesofplay.co.uk/products/carcassonne-20th-anniversary-edition
Dice and Destiny - £41.99 + £3 postage
http://www.diceanddestiny.co.uk/products/carcassonne-20th-anniversary-edition/
My general personal experience:
GamesLore have been reliable when I've used them in the past and probably the cheapest if you're considering multiple copies, perhaps in a bulk order.
If you order 3 or more GamesLore works out cheapest currently at around £40 per copy. If you order 7 it drops to around £37
BoardgameExtras is always really reliable, so the extra couple of quid is well spent imho.
Zatu has terrible customer service

[+1 merit from me]
Now: do we preorder from a UK retailer, or do we wait for a Cundco release with eventual promo stuff? :D
-
I think for such a 'special' edition, I'd like a English copy. But I might be tempted to order a German one, or maybe wait until Essen time if they produce anything around that time this year.
-
Ordered from my regular outlet - bgextras.
-
also, and no transport costs
-
I've pre-ordered at bgextras as well.
:)
I might get one from Cundco as well, but like Tom said, it would be nice to have a UK version
-
Cundco may offer English version too, they sometimes do.. I just got H&G in English from there.
Shipping may be high but seems like U.K. preorders appear to work out around £10+ higher anyway than the Euro preorder prices which seem to be settling at around €35 - approx £30.50 currently.
So if anybody finds a European shop selling for €35 with shipping less than €11.50 to U.K. it might be worth considering and mentioning here.. (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=5199.0) ;)

P.S. +1 for Decar

Updated the list with a few other retailers.
-
Zatu has reduced the price to £36 andabit.
-
Thanks for the update Willem!
-
waited so long for this. not sure i actually want it now
-
I emailed ZMan a while back (when the German edition came out) to ask for the release plan for then English version.
They replied that there were unforeseen issues in production, due to the pandemic, and they are expecting to have it released by September :o
So yeah, it's been so long, and other language editions are so widely available now, it is easier to get one of those :P
-
thinking of selling all my tiles
-
Why's that?
-
Not feeling the love for the game anymore.
-
From whom? Yourself, community, HiG?
-
thinking of selling all my tiles
All of them?
Or just those from the 20th anniversary edition?
Or ... ?
-
I don't have 20th anniv yet, but that may well go with the rest of the tiles. I will put them in attic for a while and then make a final decision.
-
From whom? Yourself, community, HiG?
Definitely nothing wrong with the community. I have no issue with HIG. Just me.
-
It's all those great games you're playing on BoardgameArena! ;D

The anniversary version is not distributed in Great Britain?
-
Not yet at least. Zmg/Asmodee have not released it I'm the UK yet
-
Yet the Japanese version is apparently available..

Almost like HiG doesn't want our money..
-
HiG don't want your money. They sold the license to Z-Man for exclusive UK distribution.
What Z-Man do with their license isn't really HiGs concern.
If you want to give HiG some money you can buy the German edition from them.
Edit:
And why shouldnt the Japanese have it already? The regional publisher, Mobius Games, owns the rights for production and distribution in Japan. They did the work, they secured production at a factory, they shipped the products across Japan. They've advertised and marketed it effectively.
Blaming HiG for the issues of Z-Man is unreasonable in my opinion. It's well documented that factory slots, raw materials, international shipping, is expensive and difficult at the moment.
Consider for a minute that the UK receives Z-Man products from the USA, so it's hit twice. There's little to no incentive for HiG to consider a new UK partner now Brexit has occurred, and from their perspective they won't get more out of it than they already have with Z-Man.
-
My comment was merely facetious Decar, born out of mild frustration (don't believe I'm alone there) and a suspicion that the English language version probably sells more than the Japanese language version. (Curious business decision is all, nothing to do with entitlement.) I did not feel need to be pedantic with it too.
HiG already get plenty of my money through Cundco.
I am aware of the distribution licences, but know/care little for the details of how they work, however I respectfully disagree that Z-Mans lack of progress is entirely irrelevant to HiG. It's HiG's game, HiG's name is on the box too and I'm fairly certain that, for anybody that gives it any attention, most Carc owners would consider themselves customers of HiG at least as much as customers of the individual publishers..
I seriously doubt that Z-Man pay twice for international shipping and import taxes rather than having products intended for U.K. sent directly to a U.K. (or at least an E.U.) distribution centre. If they do then more fool them, although that would happen ultimately at our expense of course. :-\
Anyway just now seen that a limited number of English version of 20th Anniversary Edition now available at Cundco for limited time. No sign of '21 tile yet though.
There will be only a small amount on our web shop available for a short period of time.

I'm slightly surprised, if above is correct, that each regional publisher would have to arrange for all their own printing, shipping etc. Wouldn't it make sense for a single production facility to print the tile sheets for all since they're language independent (maybe apart from a few with different backs)? Then the question is whether they (or someone else) produce and/or collate all the other components.

-He Batman, you received the 20 years box.
-Of course
-
;D ;D ;D

Anything inside it?
-
the box is full and, surprise, the meeples are alive

Just saw that the Z-man website (via the Asmodee link) in the US is now giving 11/12/21 as a date for the English version of the Anniversary Edition. Hope this isn't pushed back again and that all of us who've been waiting can get one soon!
-
Emailed Andrew at bgextras this week, still no news when this will be available.
-
This is a neverending story...
Be patient! Hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel (no tokens allowed here). >:D

I'll believe it when I see it but I got a "Your order has been dispatched" from Zatu Games this morning for the order I placed at the end of April this year. Let's wait and see.
-
My copy from Magic Madhouse has just arrived!
-
Mine is in a bundle of items for Xmas. I have waited 7 months, no harm adding 1 more and I will see the new tiles after I have had some Turkey.
