Carcassonne in Carcassonne - 09 & 10.09.2023

This weekend an event in Carcassonne is taking place. People like the idea of playing Carcassonne in Carcassonne and I don't know why!

Asmodee took advantage of the whole thing and celebrated the French Carcassonne National Championship. I would like to congratulate @Linksux for participating in it and reaching the second position. He fell in the finals against the national champion. We feel very proud in you!!! 

KJW and Marcel Gröber didn't show up, so no meet and greet or personal tiles this time. But HiG put in place a nice treasure hunt that is keeping everyone busy. You have to go to different points in the old city searching for activities representing different ages related to Wonders of Humanity... If you succeed in various challenges, you will get the associated wonder tile and a stickers your event "passport". The back of wonder tiles feature the pieces of a map, that you can assemble and guide through your quest, since it represents the city od Carcassonne. Once you have all the four wonder tiles, you may face the final challenge and get a precious prize: a bag full of Carcassonne coins...

I couldn't be there but had a lot of feedback from people on the ground. So I share what I got... starting with pictures of the wonder tiles in the order you collect them and how the back of the pieces form a map of Carcassonn step by step.

Thanks a lot!! I’m also proud of my performance but a little bit disappointed to loose so close to the qualification for Essen

Especially with a lot of great BGA French players from Carcassonne France team, who have participated.

Actually I beat the previous champion in 1/4, it was a very interesting game :-)

It was a great day and I’m happy to get the new expansion and the coins !!

The event passport includes a QR code that links to the PDF rules of The Wonders of Humanity on Cundco (The file is available although the item is not on sale yet).

The rules are in German and in English... But the latter have some minor issues. We already included the rules on WICA and will be contacting HiG to iron some some ripples we have detected.

Noticed this lovely gem in the rules "Note: Only 4 wonders are included in the first set. So you can play with maximum up to four players. However
further sets will be available, which will allow you to choose the wonders and/or play with more than 4 players."

Hi everyone,
Just to say that, according to the asmodee team
Only 500 of "Wonders of humanity" expansion were edited, exclusively for the event (as it could be used as a treasure map)
Only 300 treasure bag were also realised for this event

Another important point is that, the same asmodee team confirmed me that there will be a 3rd edition next year, with a presentation of a new (major ?) Extension.

We were patient, burned in the sun, but it was worth it just to see the tower from the inside
