Easter Bunny Movement Question

Can the Easter Bunny change directions during a roll i.e. the roll is 3, bunny hops vertical one and horizontially two, or does all the bunny's movement have to be in one direction?

The Bunny can change the direction after every tile. The german expression "Haken schlagen" implies the that for the movement of the bunny like real bunnies run.
