That Porxada, is that an original one?  :o

The original ones weren't even tiles, they were just stickers. I've never seen one of the original stickers up for grabs anywhere, and I don't suppose I ever will. But since it's an unofficial expansion anyway, a well-printed tile like this is a great compromise!

Good luck with your final two tile Gabrielgeek01...

So it IS legal  to buy homemade copies of La Porxada because it's an unofficial expansion, but it's not legal to buy homemade copies of the Fortune Tellers and the Russians because they are official expansions and owned by HiG. Is that correct?

Below you can find the Dutch box from 999 games

http://www.999games.nl/nieuws/nieuws/the-circus-is-in-town.html

"Het Circus" translates in English to "The Circus", so I would bet $5 that is what the Expansion will be called in English.

My Dutch is slightly worse than my German (which is terrible), but I believe it says "We recommend using this expansion only with the base game of Carcassonne...
We hope to have Carcassonne: Circus in stores in the next 2 months."

I guess we may never get an official ruling as to whether or not the dragon can eat the circus animals (He totally can  :(y)).

The expansion will be in German stores in 2 months or US stores as well?

Looking forward to punching the tiles and giving it a go.  I'd be scared to make a pyramid while playing with MrNumbers or Jere, they're pretty good at trapping a meeple on a cloister.  Trapping two or three meeple in one go might be a nice target.

It also sounds like it's not possible to complete a Pyramid if you are playing with German Castles....The pyramid must be surrounded by 8-tiles.

I assume a German Castle would count as two tiles for this purpose, as they do for cloisters, yes?

Thank you for helping us all understand all of this, so we can keep Carcassonne Central on the up and up, Decar. So would I be allowed to propose a trade with someone where they print the tiles for me, and I give them something in return, say another expansion? As long as no profit is being made, or money exchanged, then it would be ok?

Rereading though some of the posts for the "Element of the Week" series, including this one, and I was wondering Whaleyland, if you're ever planning on making posts for the German Cathedrals, Labyrinth, Watchtowers, and the newest Russian promo if and when it becomes more widely available. I'd love to keep the discussion going, and want to thank you for all your hard work on this series of posts!

I finally got my hands on this expansion and played it with two of my friends. It certainly doesn't seem to fit within the "spirit" of Carcassonne, but we had a lot of fun with it! One of my friends consistently aimed it more accurately, so it seems there's at least a bit of trick to it that can be used strategically. The second to last turn it ended up causing a meeple switch on a German Monastery, causing an almost 60 point swing, and changing the winner! As others have said, it's not one I'll probably play with very often, but it's still fun and quirky, and since I'm quirky, it worked for me  ^-^ I'm very glad I own it now, and think it's a fun element in the Carcassonne universe.

Even if the tiles in question have never existed as physical tiles for purchase, and are only available as a download from the manufacturer's website as "Print 'n' Play"? It's not depriving the company of additional revenue - in most cases they're gaining by someone buying the blank tiles ...

Logically, this makes sense to me as well. They're not losing any money whatsoever by someone printing Fortune Teller tiles for example, and then selling those tiles. But Joe Blow is still profiting off of something they don't own - I think that's the problem legally. Which is unfortunate, because basically if you want quality "Print 'n' Play" tiles, but don't have the capability to make them, you're out of luck unless someone finds it in their heart to just make them and give them to you for free. Is my understanding correct, Decar?

I like the box art for Bridges, Castles, and Bazaars the best probably. The marketplace scene is intriguing to me for some reason.

Just received the Catapult expansion components all safely intact thanks to What If? !  Thank you so much!!! I am so excited to try it out and that I'm one step closer to completion to my satisfaction. All that's left is The Besiegers, Wheel of Fortune, and the Russians and La Porxada if possible.

Thanks for the new info Rich_The_Fish, jungleboy, and kettlefish! My initial thoughts after reading the rules:

- Even though it has similarities with the sheep from Hills and Sheep, I like the circus tent mechanic. It's cool that it's always moving, and the luck-based aspect seems like it would just build excitement and suspense until the animal is revealed, so that's a plus. If I understand correctly it wouldn't be difficult to score 21+ points on the 7 point elephant. That's nothing to sneeze at!

- Everyone knows the real game within the game of Carcassonne is stacking your meeples, so the human pyramids are a fun idea, and would poses some interesting choices of whether placing a meeple would be worth the points in the time it could take to get it back. I could also see players trapping pyramid meeples on their tile with the tiles places close to it.

- The ringmaster is interesting to me in that he gets the 2 points per new tile surrounding him, even if he doesn't have the majority on a feature, or finishes it - if I understand correctly. Since the ringmaster can be a farmer, does that mean he could score the bonus points for tiles surrounding him at the end even if he didn't have the majority in the farm? That would be very interesting.

Overall, it looks like it has some fun new elements with mechanics that stay within the spirit of Carcassonne - judging whether or not a meeple is worth the points in the time it takes to score and the potential of trapping meeples with the pyramids, surrounding tile and meeple bonus points with the ringmaster. Of course I wish there was a classic artwork option, but from what I see I'm excited to try this new expansion out  :)

Of the choices given, I think I like Expansion 6's box art the most. But my favorite is probably the new box art for "Bridges, Castles, and Bazaars." I honestly don't mind them trying to freshen things up with new box art. It's the new tile art that doesn't look right with the old tiles that bothers me.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt Hans im Glück will pay two artists for the same product. Let's be realistic here, classic Carcassonne is definitely gone and won't come back, ever.

Yes, I know you're almost certainly correct the old art is gone for good, but I guess I'll always hold onto the tiniest bit of hope they might release something small in the future. They did pay both artists for the Labyrinth, but I realize that was only one tile.

What is the ccff tile near the upper left side of the first photo? It's to the right of the princess tile and looks like there are several tents/encampments? (I'm not talking about the fairgrounds on a catapult piece). In the field section. I don't recognize the tile.

It's from Siege. The Siege tiles don't have broken city walls like Cathars and Besiegers.

Jungleboy is right! Though I have Catapult in a closet somewhere, I haven't used any of the tiles, (that I can recall anyway).

Ah ok, thank you Jungleboy for the clarification!
Franks, I see several catapult fairgrounds tiles in the second, lower photo, or did I misunderstand what you meant?
