To meet up with the creator of something you love is wonderful! Though, I wouldn't know what to say.  :))

I would be grateful if you could forward how much I appreciate what he has done and that Carcassonne is now a hobby of mine which I will cherish for the rest of my life.  :meeple:
World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!

Yes meeting a creator of something you like is wonderful.
I have a list of meetings on my webpage:
http://www.wikstromtree.org/_3music/top/meetings.htm
But please tell Klaus-Juergen to keep up the good work and make more spin-offs but also more expansions to the original Carcassonne.
My website:

although the games page is yet to be started

Hi kettlefish, I'd like to hear his thoughts on 1st Edition Farm scoring vs 3rd Edition Farm scoring. If he was saddened to see his original design changed. Does he think Farm scoring is overpowered now? How does he play the game?

Also, I'd like to hear his thoughts on the two-tile city. Should it be worth 2 points or 4 points in his mind? How does he play?

Thanks.
Carcking
I just drew the perfect tile for my MonKnighThieFarmer!

Klaus-Juergen,
the postings above are from Sweden (Yellow and wicke) and from USA (Carcking).  ;D

I hope that you have again some time to sign landscape tiles for the community.

My house rule for a signed landscape tile:
10 points for the player who placed that tile.

I will print this thread before I go to Leipzig (15 02 2014).

These are great questions Carcking! I am also interesting in seeing what he says. Can't believe I didn't ask him these at Essen..  Did howevwr end up asking him what his favorite Carcassonne games were. He said his favorite expansion is the Princess & Dragon and favorite spin-off is The City.
PM me for for a list of remaining items from the Carcassonne Shoppe.

He said his favorite expansion is the Princess & Dragon...

Wow, this surprises me. I never would have guessed that to be his favorite.

I wonder if he has much to do with designing expansions now? Do you think any are his original ideas? Or is there an HiG team that comes up with them? Or a combination?

I would like to know how much is left surprised at the success of Carcassonne, how this has changed his life and especially if you would have expected.
A knight is sworn to valour.
His heart knows only virtue.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.
His wrath undoes the wicked.

 :white-meeple: My works.

My question is to Klaus-Juergen:
Which Meeple colour is your favorite when you play CC?
 :blue-meeple: :red-meeple: :meeple: :green-meeple: :black-meeple: :gray-meeple:

Or some of the new colours?

If I got the opportunity, I would ask:
- if he has ever played MEGA-CARCASSONNE.
- if he has ever shared photos of his original prototypes of the game.
- did the theme of a castle came first, or the gameplay mechanics?
- did he design the game with expandability in mind, or was the opportunity to make so many great expansions a happy coincidence?
- does he pay any attention to the enthusiasm of the community?  Fan-made expansions, tuckboxes to organize the expansions, the rainbow of meeple colors, etc...
- obvious question: Favorite combination of expansions for experienced gamers.
- considered making any unique expansions for online games - something which isn't possible with static printed tiles.
- other hobbies/interests that inspire new game ideas

Cool opportunity, tell us how it goes!  Signed tiles would be an amazing collectible.

EDIT: Sorry, that's a lot of ?'s...  If I had to pick, i'd be most interested in hearing these two:
- did he design the game with expandability in mind, or was the opportunity to make so many great expansions a happy coincidence?
- considered making any unique expansions for online games - something which isn't possible with static printed tiles.
