I can’t say much about HobbyWorld or their Russian partners, but HiG means business when it comes to Carcassonne. Although it takes a bit of time, their legal team does take action. Working with them while I was running Carcassonne Shoppe, my contract was no joke. I also recall them wanting to draft up legal documents for posting fan expansions on the official site if memory serves me right.

Digging up the Carcassonne Coasters this past weekend made me think about repitching the idea of expansion coasters like River and Winter like originally planned (and what beautiful art these could make!) but having to go through the legal process and approvals was not easy the first time. But people need to know it’s the right thing to do when it comes to someone else’s intellectual property. That, and if you do stuff like knockoffs, know that they will always have more money for lawyers than you do so make sure to listen to cease and desist orders.

When I first realized that there are other than large expansions, I found mini expansion and cundco.de
Then I found BoardGameGeek with list of all expansions and there were fan expansions ! WOW.
I was angry that I'm not able to find where to buy them.
Then I found a forum carcassonneforum.cz, carcassonnecentral.com and carcassonne-forum.de.
And I started research about fan expansions.
And I realized thet licence from HiG is good.
So I wrote to mine mind: You can't buy printed fan expansion.
But sometimes it's possible to find a "fan" on eBay or other services where is selling them.
So what can happen:
1. When you buy it, the seller get a profit and than he is motivated to do it again and for greater profit
2. HiG will revoke the approval of fan expansions and we will only be able to purchase "few" official extensions.

So. I'm into stopping selling any printed extensions.
I'm also for sending information to HiG about all the cases where I or you so we will find out that someone is selling fan expansion.

Anyway, tile printing is fun. Even, that you can't achieve 100% success every time ;-D

OK, very good. Now imagine that you want several fan expansion but well printed in professional quality so that they do not clash with the official ones. There is someone who can access the printer and tells you if you want I can print it for you. But it turns out that printing is worth money. Would you pay to have it printed for you? Profit should not be confused with the costs of whatever is done.

Look. When I'm looking for somebody who will print it for me and he tell "ok. I'll do this" I thing it's fine.
But If I will search on internet and somebody will have webpage or ad that he is printing any expansions to carcasonne files, it's not good, because he is offering this printing carcassonne tiles.
