Again I'm very impressed!

German cathedrals are a nice addition, a bit unexpected to be honest! :)

Then they added the River I with an interesting option to let you choose whether you want to connect the rivers or not when you play with both. Very well thought!

And finally, they added the gardens to the old artwork! These guys are amazing. I'm going to fly to Munich just to hug them haha :)

I don't have the app, but I am curious to see what the gardens looks like, whether or not they have redesigned them for the older artwork.

Looks like they are not redesigned. Seems fine to me.

Thank you so much for the news!
After months not touching the app, now I seriously have to learn the German cathedrals rules.

Honestly, I don't think I want to give away money only to buy design mixed Carcassonne. I'm fine with either version seperately, but crossing them (on the same tile) is a no go in my honest opinion.  :(n) Though, nice to see new expansions for the app.  :(y)

Saw this at 1:30am local time on a loo break  ;D

... and quickly added them to the set. Way to sleepy to post about it, but glad to see it was shared.

I was surprised at the choice of the inclusion of German Cathedrals over other possibilities, (though I am not complaining).

Also somewhat surprised at the Abbott since the App is still in the original art work style.

Wanna play Carc? Can we add just one more expansion?

Thanks grantf!  I had to get them right away, but I couldn't because I was way too busy..... but, I finally got them.   I first tried playing with both rivers, non-consecutively to see what that was all about and found that you just start the 2nd river after you lay the first one.  The player whose turn it lands on gets to place the source of the second river...... interesting.   Also, you can use the river to trap pieces as seen in this photo:

I also like the new sounds for the Abbot and the German Cathedrals.  I was hoping for some more substantial expansions like Abbey and Mayor, but I am glad they finally released something new.... it had been ages.   :green-meeple: :(y)
Who got a smudge on the tile?

I also picked up the Abbey expansion (not the other two yet – waiting for a deal or something) and didn't entirely mind it when placed on the old art. I have a strong suspicion that there will be a "new art" DLC available in the next major expansion update, much like they did with the Winter Edition. I think what could be cool, though, is to advertise it as the Spring Art version (since it is all bright and bloomy) and release at the same time an app-exclusive Autumn Art version with all the trees shades of red/orange/yellow and perhaps some other features. The base game art can be advertised as Summer Art since it is a bit more drab than the new art but definitely not Autumn yet.

Wow, they're pretty regular with the content on the iOS one aren't they? Though I know that the Android version is made by different guys, I wish it had as much love as this one!

Yes they are. They usually have one big release per year but last year they devoted all their (limited) resources to creating a version for Mac so it had been a loooong time since iPhone/iPad users could get new content. It's there FINALLY!  :)

I've played a couple games now and I've noticed the abbot scores differently than I've been playing.  The iOS version won't let you pull your abbot and place your phantom.  I pretty sure that according to the CAR you are able to pull your abbot and play your phantom.  iOS also doesn't let you move the fairy and place the phantom on the same turn, but jcloisterzone lets you.  I wish they would add options for rules like jcz does.   :green-meeple:
