So having those roads line up correctly should be a core objective and if printing errors could cause problems, then printing should be better monitored and/or the printers should be held more accountable. To have the tiles misaligned by so much that people genuinely question whether it's a legal placement is quite poor, in my opinion. It's fairly minor but still something that could have been done better.The game is still fun and will continue to be fun; I don't see how this is relevant. If I knew about the game in 2000 the misalignment would have bothered me then too.
Rest assure, this annoys me as well, but my love for the game will trump many (very many!) errors and decisions.
