New edition Carcassonne with "der Abot"
« on: October 22, 2014, 04:55:19 AM »

Ok, so I just noticed the new version of Carcassonne on CundCo shop, and I see that it comes with the fluss and "der Abot" meeple...  :o

Now I have totally missed this.. WHAT is der Abot?  ??? A red meeple that does, what exactly?

At CundCo you can order one single meeple or one single tile, so do you think they sell separately this one red der Abot meeple?  :)

I don't know what this meeple is, or does, but I suddenly feel the urge to get it...  :o

Actually it's not only a red one, everyone gets an abbot. It's like a new special meeple you can place in a new feature: gardens. I think there is another post here in the fórum with a translation of the rules in english where you can get all the info.

EDIT: This post, page 14, someone linked the rules in German. I'm sure someone will get to translate them in english.

... Well this sucks...  :-\

Another expansion that you have to buy the new whole base game to get....   :'(

BAHH.... No Der Abbot for me... At least not until they release it as a separate expansion without those awful new bright colored base game tiles..  :-\
Sorry.. They just don't match or mix well with my current tiles. :)

This is becoming a common theme. Anything new usually comes with the old.
I don't mind as I am gunhappy when it comes to buying Carcassonne left and right. But I certainly feel for anyone else.

Hopefully, as before, carcassonneshoppe.com and others will sell these separately for a reasonable price.
World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!

Impossible to collect everything. :)

I fully intend to prove that statement to be incorrect. 8)

I think the term "everything" needs to be defined first. Are we talking just game components or promo items like stickers too? And regarding game components, Hans im Glück and Spielbox expansions only, or are all distributor versions required? There is a lot of ambiguity in the word "everything" when it comes to Carcassonne.

Based on BabyGamer's statement, I think she is struggling with the "easiest" definition of everything, so not all distributor versions just unique game components. The only thing that will be tricky for me to get my hands on at this point is the "River III" from BB5. I'm hoping that Carcatronn will bring a bunch of these in for spare parts and he can sell me just the things that I'm missing.

So I go offline for a month and when I come back there is a new mini-expansion called "The Abbot". I smell copyright infringement. ;) This seems like a perfect opportunity for some self-promotion...

Head over to the downloads section http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=201 to download the original 2013 mini-expansion "The Abbot". The mini-expansion that has nothing what-so-ever to do with the new mini-expansion "The Abbot" but when you place it next to a German Cloister, it sure does seem familiar.  ;)

P.S. Seriously folks, I am kidding around, but if you like Cloisters as much as I do, please have a look at my fan-expansion.
