Man you guys make me want to go to Japan now! Very cool stories. I may need to lug Carcassonne with me and play Japanese Buildings near each of the buildings (how do I top playing Carcassonne in Carcassonne?)

As fan of fan expansions I have to say, that those ebay seller are doing excelent work for their increase of sells.
I found several "fan expansions" as "variants" of game only with added new figures to increase price of selling item with added some "variant" rules or "fan rules" for added figure.
But I like this Dragon rules. It's devastating game at all Image game with 4 players and 4 dragon on board in Variant 1 "DRAGON'S LAND". None of meeple is "safe"

Haha yeah they are getting quite clever with enticing buyers  Dragons Land is definitely aggressive but I am now intrigued with how it would go down.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing - white empty spaces aren’t as appeasing to the eye. The failed Kickstarter had black ones, so that might be better. However, would these just be annoying to get out and do they really make a difference? I feel like our games aren’t THAT sloppy, but my OCD does kick in when someone bumps a column

I was wondering if someone on here picked it up! DrMeeple, so does it take awhile when pulling a tile to locate its 3D “match” to put on the table? I felt like it may take me out of the game, but was curious.

The wooden tiles I hate to say it have never been played lol. They are beautiful though! I was hoping to get it licensed when I got the prototype but that day never came. Did you get them after he designed the C vines on the back or no? I also agree, Catan did their 15yr (I think it was 15) right with the wooden set. I think their 20yr was the 3D tiles, but that’s a game where it feels like it works.

I'm having a thought about the 15 new tiles for the special expansion...beyond the extended river tiles. So, the picture shows that it looks like there will be some festival tiles. The last two festivals both added 10 tiles each, but the description says 15....so maybe 10 festival plus something else??? - 

So for some reason I interpreted “anniversary-mini-expansion” as the Festival tiles we’ve seen with 10yr and 15yr, but maybe it’s not a Festival pack this time?? I mean, going with their theme, we gotta expect a 20yr Festival, but maybe that’s not this pack? Ugh, now I’m back on the “this might be worth it” train 

Also, hearing the news from Z-Man and their delay, maybe I might just get a German copy - this community has been fantastic with translation

My buddy got me a copy of Carcassonne from his trip to Japan - I was so hoping the bottoms had a J instead of the C, but the J was just for the box art, <sigh> 



Still cool it came with the Japanese Buildings

Leipzig scoring tile for Cows/Pigs/Donkeys:

"Tanners quarter: When scoring fields at the end of the game, in addition to the usual points for cities, you get 2 points for each shed (cowshed, pigsty or donkey stable) and each farmhouse in the field if you have the majority there."

Oh good call out! I missed the farmhouse rule bit. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your input!! I still need to get Tollkeepers and print land surveyors, but now that I know these extra features are used, I think that just made my decision for me  )

Okay that looks like a fun Lego build Meepledrone! Doesn’t look like that one made it to production though?

I don't really like seeing all these unlicensed products popping up.

Take those 3d tiles, I bet you can feel just what tile you need in the bag! 

I hear you Decar (and yeah 3D tiles wouldn’t even function!). When I was running the Shoppe with license, I tried my best to round up all the cool but unlicensed stuff out at the time and was working with the creators and HiG using my license. The closest one I got was the wooden tiles you might remember from back in the day - I commissioned him to design the bottoms with the C vines as all he had were the faces, but that production idea died and I don’t recall if either the creator or HiG got back to me.... but I was left with this prototype. Think he started selling the SVG files to cut yourself now, but oh wells.

Thanks for the cheaper link corinthiens13! I wonder if the fan expansion posts got lost from the forum conversion several years back.  May have to get these and bring that idea back to life

Official Rules / C2 - Any rules for Highwaymen, Water Tower, or Farmhouses?

So diving back into Carcassonne Collection mode and I’m debating if it’s worth it for BB6 Big Box 2017. I already own c2 base, c2 River, c2 T&B, and c2 I&C. However, I don’t know if I NEED c2 Minis if I already own c1 Minis, so it boils down to integration with other expansions with extra features on tiles.

I skimmed through all the BB6 Big Box 2017 posts and the latest CAR, but couldn’t find any posts about this yet.  From what I see, I count x3 Gardens (Abbot component) and x2 Cow/Pig (Leipzig component). But if the x3 Farmhouses, x3 Water Towers, and/or x3 Highwaymen are used in an official or fan expansion that I am unaware of, this might persuade me to get them

Colored Dragons found on Etsy! I had a fan expansion that I can’t find at the moment but it was about everyone having their own colored dragon that gets on the board when their colored egg tile is drawn. I’m forgetting the rules, but I think I was tinkering with the player moving their dragon color instead of placing a follower on their turn, but the dragon movement is limited to like 3 or something. Maybe someone on here more savvy at locating old threads can source the original post

Another crazy find on Etsy - 3D tiles? Looks cool (color scheme is ugly) reminds me of the Lego design from back in the day. Still not drawing these out of a bag so maybe just a novelty display
