Ah, thanks, Paloi! I knew the C2 version had it, but I didn't know C1 didn't. Glad I'm not missing it.

Well now I know why the seller on ebay didn't include a picture of the box! Ha ha, you'd think if they were replacing the box they'd use a non-broken container (no, it wasn't damaged in shipping; there was no plastic piece in the box). But except for missing the gold scoring tile, at least all the mini expansions are there, which is what I wanted...

My daughter and I played a great game yesterday! Shout out to Matisek for his Royal Privileges expansion (https://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=6661.msg94862#msg94862). I thought it was a lot of fun, especially when I scored 10 points when the first one was turned over. Happy to say that I ended up winning by 6 points, despite my daughter sneakily stealing my big farm.

Broke out the 10th anniversary edition with my daughters last night. It was interesting but fun playing with phantom-looking meeples. Happy that I (blue) was able to sneak that 3rd farmer into the shared field to ensure the win.

Hmm, I don't use tile grids, but the sleeves don't add much extra width so they might work okay. I like the added benefit of protecting the tiles from people who like to snack while they play.

Hello, Viperion, and let me welcome you to the Forum as well. A non-sticker option would be to sleeve all the tiles and then slide in a small slip of paper with your initial. Might want to put the paper slip on the back of the tile though, so as not to block any features, and as kothmann said, use a bag. I recommend Swan Premium Card Sleeves (47x47mm). Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Anything Else / Re: Happy Birthday« on: April 15, 2024, 05:56:45 PM »Ooooooh!!! Awesome!!! Just gave Fluxx the Board Game a go, and the fam and I all like it! The shifting rules are very Fluxx-like, but the board elements give it a lot more strategy. You can actually plan your card play and board moves toward a goal and not rely on as much luck as regular Fluxx. For this reason, I think we like the gameplay better than Fluxx. Regularly playing blue, I also especially like the blue meeples that it came with. The only thing I would fault is the bland artwork (of mundane things like a toaster, loaf of bread, and things like that). Fluxx does theme very well (be it Star Trek, Doctor Who, super heroes or, one of my favorite Fluxxes, Jumanji). The theme for the Board Game is very underwhelming and could've benefitted greatly by using the art styles of any of the previous mentioned Fluxxes. (Hey, Andy Looney, if you're reading this, you do a million versions of Fluxx. Why don't you do any other versions of the board game version??!) So in conclusion, if I were to rate the game, I'd give it a 9 for gameplay and a 7 for theme/art for an average score of 8. Btw, speaking of Looney games, have you (or anyone else) tried any of their Pyramid games? I encourage anyone to check out Pyramid Arcade, which includes a bunch of super fun games. 13

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Meepledrone! It was a great day of fun and a great haul of board games (and a few other things). And I won 2 out of 3 games of King of Tokyo too.

Yeah, that was a monster inn road, which she finished on her last turn. I think I've only used ferries once before, but we thought we'd give 'em a try and ended up liking them. If I had been thinking, I would've used a ferry to shorten her monster road. Lessons learned. The escaped animals are a variant work in progress to go with the Bazaar tiles. Still needs a bit of work though. Oh, we also tried a new way to use the princess tiles. I added a Princess token, and we played the princess tiles the same way as the Winter Gingerbread Man expansion. No kidnapping, extra points, everyone was happy.

Thanks for the speedy delivery, Kothmann! Received my set Monday, added some bits and tried it yesterday in a 4-color, 2-player game (my daughter couldn't decide between purple and yellow, so the 2 of us played a 4 player game). In honor of the game's sender, we tried out some of Kothmann's greatest variant hits: Old City (which, among other things, combines Bridge, Wall and Gate, Guesthouse and Wyvern) and Flash Points. Happy to say we both loved the variety of the double sided tiles and the ingeniously handy walls and gates. Liked the guesthouses too, even though mine didn't finish, thus sadly scoring 0. Wyvern was fun too, when we remembered to move it. We also liked the exploding volcanoes of Flash Points, although they weren't a major factor in this particular game. All in all, it was a great playing experience, and I think this set (complete with variant rules) will become my standard travel set. Thanks again, Kothmann, for the awesome set and wonderful variants to play with it!
