Ha ha ha! This sounds like an echo of the ranting about C2 when it came out...
I'll have to try and track that down and see how that went!  I don't have a problem with any of the "Art" in any of the versions. I have a soft spot for C1, but that's my original and always will be. The art on C2 and C3 are completely fine, but just feel unnecessary as C1 was perfectly fit for purpose. Glad to see i'm not the only bothered by the clipped buildings. Just feels like an unnecessary update that has all cons and no pros on its side. I'm sure there's someone patting themself on the back for this update, but i'd be very interested to know what was going on in some peoples heads? Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. :-)

Hey all,
I'm sure this has been discussed in the past and I have searched prior to creating a thread (unsuccessfull). I know it's been a couple of years now, but I keep wondering why? When it comes to the C3 artwork. The old style whether C1 or C2 with the building in the centre worked perfect and I just don't understand who thought it would be a good idea to fill up these cities so much that they're all cut off and looking dumb where they're joined.
Have the artists ever or developers ever answered this question as to why? Is there a general consensus as to whether this is an appreciated change in the community or universally hated? Just feels like such a downgrade to me of something that was perfect and just hoping to hear some other thoughts on it if people are inclined to share?

Thank you very much. Haven't completely absolved my guilt for spending another $70, but I do feel a bit more comfortable about getting what i'm expecting. :-)
I must ask though, what is that expansion and where could I find it please? :-D

Hey All, Just hoping for a little help from you Carcassonne Geniuses. Always really, really wanted the Carcassone Winter edition and as there seemed to be only 3 copies left I went and ordered it from Amazon at the bellow link. Just had a couple of questions if anyone cares to help: 1. This does appear to be a legit copy of the game right? Recently purchased a fake and don't want to repeat that again. 2. This is the Muller edition right? 3. Does this seem like a good deal? It's $70 Australian, which is a little expensive, but it was just a German exclusive right? And not likely to get any better offers on this side of the world am I? 4. Don't suppose there's anywhere reasonable to get Corn Cirles, is there? If anyone thinks i've made a bad decision and thinks I should cancel it, i'd really appreciate the help. Keep trying! I just succeeded with the Spiel Tile included! Very excited.
Only things i'm dissapointed by is the advent box. Was feeling in the mood to finally get one, but I only needed the Wonders of Humanity and Spell Circles. The rest I already had or was useless. Shame, would have been exciting to get for once.
I’m reading 1x Voucher but are we sure that this will be the Spiel Tile?
Mine says in my receipt "Voucher Order number SPIEL23" It said something like that in the checkout too. Had "Voucher" on the top line and then Spiel 23 on another line I believe. I figured it's close enough to what they said in the instructions: "As soon as you have done this, the “Voucher SPIEL’23” will appear in your order overview."

Hey all, Since shipping is so expensive these days can only afford to do one order with everything new which i'm hoping will be next week during the advent sale. But just wondering if anyone has purchased and received the Spell Circles with the production issues and if you could give an opinion on how good/bad they are? Probably going to be my only opportunity to buy them for a long time and wondering if it's worth it? A little side question as well, does anyone know when we might hear more about what's included in the Advent Season Sale? Only 5 days away and still nothing.

Hey There, I'd be interested in the C1 crop circles. Might ask as well, while i'm at it. Halflings 1, is that the one with the pentagon symbol or the meeple symbol. I've got the pentagon one, after the other. And, does your copy of Princess and the Dragon have the little watermark/symbol on the the tiles or is it the original version with no symbol? Wouldn't mind a set with the symbol on them. Thanks in advance.

Jacky Wins! Could tell before I even opened the lid that it was fake. But once opened, it was very, very obvious. Tiles were flat and glossy, meeple were misshapen and as pointed out (still don't know how you could tell from that picture) the scoreboard was a thick as a cereal box. What a bummer, but i've been refunded already. Seller was just clueless.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately can't compare much more than the photos just yet, as these are the photos from ebay. Probably a week before I have it in hand. I'll let y'all know the result when I receive it. Just going through that phase where I hope it is what it is. :-D Most of the fakes i've seen online have Hans Im Gluck logos on them rather than Z-man Games, plus they have seemed like they were based on the more recent run. Was hoping there hadn't been clones done of W1 or something like that! :-)
Hoping it's all good. The seller was selling a bunch of other games than never in a million years would have been bootleg ones. So holding out hopes. :-D

Can any clever chookies who really know their stuff possibly reassure me that I haven't bought a dud? Lol. Jumped on this pre-owned set last night on ebay for $28aud. From what I can see, I think it is a 2012 copy of the Winter Edition. From what i've seen online, the more recent version seems to be the one with clone copies and such, but does anyone know for sure whether this is the 2012 edition and is there any history of bootlegs of this version or can you just potentially tell from the pics whether you think this is legit? Thanks a bunch! :-D Really need a home for my gingerbread man.

The updated rules provided by HiG in 3/2023 have rendered this clarification obsolete.
I just received my copy of Mists over Carcassonne today and much prefer to read the rules in the book rather than online. Two questions if you don't mind: 1. Where are the 3/2023 rules that you are referring to in the above post located? 2. Not sure if it's in the above or not, but is there a brief summary somewhere of any updated rules that I can print and add to my box that I can also refer to when learning to play? Thanks everyone! :-)
