The Marketplace / Re: Giant Carcassonne Tiles!
« on: September 10, 2018, 06:02:13 AM »
I am probably grouping with Bigboss for Germany, waiting for more Infos.

But actually something is not clear, the actual 72 tiles are made of what ? This rubber type material for the scoretrack ? Or the standard Cork-carton type ?

If it is the later, it means a random spillage will eventually kill the tile or maybe I am mistaken ?

1. regarding the postage to germany, I will ask carcassonneshoppe now via facebook!

2. The rubberized coaster tiles aren´t anymore availlable - We get  "only" the normal cork tiles.

PS:
There were various additional material (for a "special" complete AoC Set), which had been produced in smaller edition.

• x12 mini fridge magnets in 6 colors for use with the Tunnels expansion coaster pack
• x6 BPA-free acrylic 1.5 oz. shot glasses in clear with Phantom Meeple print in 6 colors
•  rubberized coasters
•  gold, silver, bronze acrylic shot glasses
Are you sure this material is still available? I asked Ted for phantom Meeple but he told me the blue one isn't available anymore...  :(
I didn't know about the Tunnel magnets, I am going to ask him for them! Thanks!

Although I am interested, I fear customs will destroy you financially to have a large shipment come in.  Individually packed sets will be exempt from customs charges.

I agree. Probably I’ll do by myself... or choose to miss this set
Se vuoi possiamo chiedere a Ted un'unica spedizione in Italia, io ho già ordinato due set + i bicchieri e al momento il costo della spedizione è di 58,60 $

A tutti gli utenti italiani del forum...

l'ultima versione dell'RCA è pronta!

Appena scaricata anche questa versione, grazie infinite per il tuo lavoro!

I am from EU too, (Italy)
Are you italian too?
Certo, sono uno dei principali fan di Carcopedia!  ;)

Embè, quando me lo dici?!?  :D

Come vedi qui sopra, te l'avevo già detto, quando si chiamava ancora RCA!  ;D

Looks like I am asking for all 100 as the EU distributor of carcshoppe.

Dear UK customs, I have ordered 10,000 beer mats..........

Nicely volunteered Rich! :) :(y)

I already asked Ted how much shipping would be for one set and he stated it was $23.50 which is roughly £18.11 or €20.28. I don't know how much it goes up by when you include 2 or more sets but obviously it will be less per set when averaged across several sets.

BigBoss

supertopix

Maj. Frost ?
I am from EU too, (Italy) but I am not sure that this solution would be cheaper for us, shipping from UK to other European country is quite expensive. Anyway I have asked him the shipping rate to Italy for two sets, I can tell you if the EU shipment could be convenient for me after his reply.

Wow, I always blamed me not being enough Carcassonne fan in 2014 to participate to the Adults of Carcassonne kickstarter campaign, now I have the last chance to get my hands on those wonderful tiles and I don't want to miss it!!!
Thank you very much Dan for this post, I am going to send an email right now!

If they're not in a hurry to sell them why would they drop the price? It's not like they're going to go out of date. Even if it takes a year or two they'll still sell them eventually.
But I am not in a hurry to buy it, for me it is worth to check the price sometimes!

Judging from the information on the website it looks like these would have been very expensive to make so it might be that they can't/ won't ever drop the price if the profit margin is already quite small.
If the profit margin is quite small, why they decide to produce such a risky item? Suppose they paid each copy 500 €: this means they invested 50.000 € for just a 10% profit (consider VAT) in the best case they sell them all at this price. It is hard to believe...
I am pretty sure that HiG didn't pay more than 100/150 € for each copy. On the other hand, if they paid each copy 100 €, in order to get back the invested capital, it is enough to sell 20 copies; at this point, they can keep this price forever without any risk. But if they won't sell more than 2 or 3 copies in few months, maybe they will riconsider the price. For me it is not so hard to believe it: until now I didn't find a single person with this willingness to pay...

Guys, I think you have missed an important detail: they are made only "on demand". There is zero financial risk for cundco.
Are you sure about this? If it is true, there is no chance to get a smaller price.
If HiG is looking for the "most unpopular board game editor of the year", today we can already assign the prize for 2018...  >:(

I am pretty sure they won't find 80 different persons able to spend this money and they will be forced to riconsider the price sooner or later.
The problem is HOW MUCH they can drop this price, since my willingness to pay is not exactly close to the current price... Only the "Invisible Hand" knows the answer!  ;)

I am sorry but crowdfunding is not an option in this case, we are not a museum or a tennis club where every member can take pleasure of a shared good, but a web community, we will never find an agreement about the custody of this precious item...

Just seen. I was expecting an expensive price, but in my opinion this is totally unacceptable.  :o
I hope that everybody thinks the same, maybe once they will understand they won't sell a single copy, they will reconsider the price...

EDIT: Hmm, I just checked the CAR and there also is (and was) some uncertainty about whether the German rules allow all players to place their robbers, or just the active player and then the one player on his left. The latter doesn't really make sense, of course, but that does seem to be what the German rules are saying. The references to the next player are singular, not plural, and I don't see anything that would translate as "each/every," "and so on," or "etc.", so there doesn't seem to be any indication that the remaining players get to place their robbers. That's pretty weird.

There is no uncertainty, the example clarifies that only the active player and the next player (singular) whose robber is still in his own supply may place the robber. Thus only two players may place their robbers for each tile of this expansion. This is the huge difference comparing to English rules!!!

There is a huge difference among German and English Big Box 6 rules concerning the mini expansion 6 "the Robbers".

To my knowledge, the same difference already existed in the Big Box 4 for the Old Edition.

Hello, I checked on CundCo tile list, the 12 tiles are JS-01/JS-12.
To be honest, I don't know what to ask for to replace, I have pretty much everything concerning Carcassonne tiles (I only miss Cult Siege and Creativity  but it has definitely a higher value than this sheet). If you have something you don't need, try to make me an offer!!!
Actually also Sinscerly sent me a PM about this sheet, but I didn't understand if he was interested in a trade. If you want, I can also consider your offer!
Yeah I'm intrested, but don't know what to offer you for a trade :(

I heard you didn't had a H&G set yet, right?
Actually I have the complete game, but not for trade or resale.  I can only trade (or alternatively sell for 2 € + shipping) only the tile sheet from JS01 to JS12.

Hello, me too I have recently bought the Autorenpäckchen on CundCo website and I am pretty disappointed about the content of the box. While the wood pieces are pretty much the same of the pictures, the banknotes are really bad assorted (I have only 1, 200 and 500 values, missing all the intermediate ones!); also it came with only one label A4 sheet (instead of the two promised on their website) and I didn't get blank sheets of tiles but only a 12 sheet tiles from H&G me too. Since I already have this game, if you are interested in this sheet maybe we can do a swap or, if you don't have nothing interesting for me, I can sell you for 2 € plus shipping. Of course, you need to be sure that it is not the same sheet, since it seems that this Autorenpäckchen is simply a bunch of spare parts they produced or printed in excess (the bag of 5 meeples + 2 houses, which I also found on my box, belongs to "Over Hill and Dale").
The H&G tiles I have appear to be js25-js36 from the CundCo tile list. If I can't collect the game tile by tile, I reckon it wouldn't break the game to add them to a complete game (although... there's the thing with bonus tiles to consider).
The authorpack appears to be a collection of whatever leftover stock/misprints they happen to have lying around. Mine didn't come with any banknotes, but there is a complete cardgame in there that I haven't taken the trouble to use the instructions for, a stack of resource cards, about six or seven mis-printed dice (missing 1 and 6 but having extra 2 and 5; I'll probably sand those down for custom dice) and a ton of pawns and other tokens. Oh, and a random game board. It did include blank hexagonal tiles.
I'm not entirely convinced it's good value for money either, but it's pretty cheap, and I mainly got it for my kids so they don't need to borrow tokens from my game collection when they're inventing their own board game.

EDIT: completely forgot to ask: what sort of thing are you looking for to replace the H&G cards? I can't think of things I'd want to get rid of off the top of my head, but that doesn't mean I don't have anything lying around.

Anyway, while I was browsing for expansions in the old art style, I came across the "author package" on CundCo (I love that they call it a päckchen) and picked that up on a whim. To my surprise, it came with twelve mint Hunter & Gatherer tiles, a Hunters & Gatherers score board, and a package of five Meeples + 2 houses in five colours (they're not the right style to be actual Hunters & Gatherers Meeple though).

Now, I never got Hunters & Gatherers back in the day, because it seemed like a themed version of Carcassonne, and why would I fork out cash to buy that if I already had the normal game (I'm in general not a fan of themed versions of games). Since then, I've read through the rules and realised that it actually has some neat changes from vanilla Carcassonne, and would probably find it neat to have as an alternative.
