Welcome to the World of Tile Printing :)

A nice haul! They say learning a language is easier when you're younger, so she'll probably find German have no trouble reading it  :))

Haha true, except my daughter is already enrolled in a Thai preschool where she understands hardly anything -- doing the hard work of learning through immersion. She is a trooper. She can tackle German in high school if she wants to. :)

Only 6 sheets of blank tiles??? I think I must have ordered around 30 so far this year, and need more ...

Only 6 sheets for three reasons.
  • I was nervous about this first shipment to Thailand (since a good percentage of mail sent from Western countries has failed to arrive here, due to either loss or theft) so I wanted to keep it inexpensive.
  • I wanted to try with just a few sheets of blank tiles first, in case it turns out I'm totally incompetent at making satisfactory tiles.
  • Most decisively, I refuse to pay anything other than the cheapest shipping (around 4 euros) from Cundco, and adding one more sheet of blank tiles would have bumped me up to the next shipping tier (something like 25 euros, I believe). I think I would have been able to fit up to 9 sheets of blank tiles in under the cheapest shipping if I hadn't ordered the Spieldoch magazine.

Yes, 9 sheets is what I order to get into the cheapest rate (plus maybe the likes of The School or Halfling sheet), unless I'm ordering a small boxed expansion (eg I&C) when you can get a few more than 9 in that second band (for me 11 Euros). Once it gets to the 3rd band (13 Euros) for some larger expansion or spin off, I found I could (but haven't) order 30+ in one go without changing the postage rate. As you have found, it's a case of trial and error to get the right number.

Got to try my free chocolate things a few days ago.  Given the cacao expansion was cheaper with chocolate than without I can't complain.  The packet recommends melting 2 balls into a glass of milk.  This took forever and the resultant drink was very lumpy.  They're no Bournville but much better than Hershey's....but that's not hard!

Postman came!

And some stuff for Dan too!

I agree. I love Flash Point, although my partner isn't a huge fan, especially with the expansions or even hot spots. I was planning to bring it to New Zealand with me, but we decided on Zooloretto (+expansions). That got sent back home in February, though, and was replaced with Brew Crafters and Scoville. Now I've got to send back TtR Asia, Netherlands, and Africa because they all weigh too much (why can't they just double-side print all the maps?!). Still, Flash Point is a fond memory that I hope to embrace again someday.

No hat trick?

Not unless you count a wifi-SD card :(

I recently got to play this on during a quiet moment during a Stag-Do and enjoyed it enough to buy it with some of the expansions.
This is the Kickstarter edition of the expansion which has a few more bits and bobs inside  :(y)
My wife enjoyed the first play through, so hopefully it will get to the table!

I loath the long wait for Kickstarters. Though this one had a very good turn around, if not the shortest time I've had to wait.

Nice to see this classic Euro back in print. Updated 2 player rules should help ensure this gets to the table!

Edited to fix pathetic grammer  ::)
