Quite a few of the questions can be resolved with this quote from the rules: This expansion was developed for the CARCASSONNE - base game, therefore the basic rules stay the same! You can play The Wonders of humanity in combination with other expansions but there won't be any official rules.  So the WICA could make assumptions of how these kind of interactions work, but it won't be clarified by HiG, and WICA can only guide as good as previous rules have been. I.e., if a certain situation has been ruled a certain way in a previous expansion, it can be assumed the same logic can be used.

We're just over a month away from Spiel in Essen! So time to see who we can expect to see, and perhaps plan a meet up! Do note; the Carcassonne world championships will be held on the Saturday this year, and will not be at the Spiel Messe centre, but at the nearby town of Herne. There will be shuttle buses from Spiel to Herne a few times throughout the day. Who will be coming? Thursday: Willem @Decar @Meepledrone Friday: Willem @Decar @Meepledrone Saturday: You can go to the Messe first, and then take a shuttle bus to Herne. Decar, Meepledrone and myself will most likely not be at the Messe at all on the Saturday, but spend the day in Herne. This scoretrack was only included in the first editions in German, Dutch and English. It can be a rare find, and often go for a relatively high price (compared to a "normal" base game). This is indeed a Dutch version, which are usually a bit easier to find. Good find! @Meepledrone , shall we create a page on the wica about the scoretracks throughout the years? I've got scans of all different ones, so we can use those

I'm just happy they finally pay tribute to me, by releasing a tile in the shape of a W! Don't know who the other tiles are for, but clearly the Circus Maximus tile is a tribute to me

HiG have now announced the new mini expansion for Carcassonne; Wonders of the World  Wonders of the World will see several new tiles in new shapes, taking up space of 5 regular tiles! Depicting several wonders from around the world, such as Stonehenge and the Notre Dame Rules are unknown for now. Will be released in Essen, and visitors to the event next month in Carcassonne will have a sneak peek!

Me and my partner went to Carcassonne in March last year, you can see my little report/blog here: https://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=5854.0The old city is of course one to recommend. Try and find the models for the C1 and C2 box arts for example! The castle tour is good to do as well. They sell Carcassonne in several shops there as well, if you want a nice souvenir! There isn't really something always to do or on display linked to the game, although in september there will be an event there, similar to last year. But I loved walking in and around the old city!

No, I've got 1 open copy of BB7 (German one), and the rest stays in seal, no plans to open them. For the ZMG version, I've heard it from multiple people that this has the squarer corners, so I'm happy with that knowledge and don't feel the urge (yet ) to open mine

That is a tile from the 9th expansion, Hills&Sheep.
When you draw such tile with a hill on it, you have to draw another tile and place it (without looking at it) upside down, underneath this tile
You place it on the landscape as per the usual rules.
If there is a draw in majority for a feature, if you have a meeple om that feature that's on a hill tile, it breaks the draw
