Title: Work in Progress
Post by: danisthirty on January 13, 2015, 03:18:43 AM
Please post a message under this thread once you've identified something that you intend to write for inclusion in our strategy guide:

- Being Kind to be Cruel #1
(written for first newsletter - needs to be recreated in new forum)

- Meeple Trapping (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=1415.msg17743#msg17743)
(completed as example - needs to be recreated in new forum)

-
Tips for a 4-player Basic Game (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=1060.msg12222#msg12222)
(complete - needs to be moved to new forum)

- Being Kind to be Cruel #2 (WIP)

- An Introduction to Tile-Counting (WIP)

If somebody else identifies something that you feel inclined to write about yourself then it may be worth contacting them directly to see if they'd be interesting in collaborating with you on that piece. Otherwise you will have to wait until it has been completed and posted here before you can post your thoughts/ comments. In light of this, collaborations are to be encouraged wherever possible.

I'd like to work on the following articles (probably in this order):
  • Maximizing use of the Abbot (Carc 2.0)
  • Joining fields
  • Protecting cities as you build
  • Carcassonne Arithmetic
  • Carcassonne Probability
Let me know what people think and if there are any ideas feedback for these topics.

Maximizing use of the Abbot (Carc 2.0)

Interesting that you chose to make this a priority. I've never used the Abbots (apart from as scoretrack markers) so will be interested to see what you make of them.

Joining fields

This is a hugely important topic. Expect lots of feedback on this one!

Protecting cities as you build

This too will be good to see. I will always build outwards/ away from the rest of the map in order to minimize dependence on specific tiles required for completion, and try not to leave any tiles directly adjacent to my cities that can be used by my opponent(s) as an opportunity to get into them.

Carcassonne Arithmetic
Carcassonne Probability

Two subjects that could be rather dry and theoretical but very interesting nonetheless, especially for me.

Good luck!  :)
