Title: Wind Roses and School
Post by: CKorfmann on August 19, 2013, 01:00:28 PM
Played my first game including both the Wind Roses and the School the other day.  I've very glad to have the Wind Roses in my collection, but as far as game play, they don't add a whole lot to the experience.  Still, a chance at three extra points for free is never a bad thing.  I did enjoy the School.  In a five-player game, I don't think I got to claim it one time, but my son got it three times.  It comes in handy, you just have to remember it when it's time to score the points!  Kinda like the fairy.  What do you guys do with the Teacher when all the school roads are completed?  We just decided to lay the teacher down on the school and leave it there.

We also leave the teacher at the school.
Attached is a photo of the teacher we use, that I bought from Germany.
And the wood trade goods, that I also bought.

wicke,
I think you bought the wooden figures at ebay.
But look here at spielematerial.de (http://www.spielematerial.de/), there you can find many other figures, also the wooden pieces what you have.

Note: When all roads leading to the school are completed, the players have managed to
successfully link the school to the outside world. Now the teacher has plenty of students
and will not leave the school again.

The wooden figures are so cute. I'm ordering some of them at
spielematerial.de (http://www.spielematerial.de/)
Thank you kettlefish!

I believe Novelty got some figures from that sight for some of the expansion he made, like the big bad wolf.

And here is the wolf:

Do you still get the bonus if you join one of the road to one of the other roads as you haven't helped to link the school up to the outside world but have linked it back to itself instead? Maybe you should lose points if you do this?

Do you mean if two school roads got looped together?

Yeah, kind of like in the attached photo. All the roads are complete but the school isn't connected to the outside world!
