Darmstadt Spielt majority
« on: November 27, 2024, 06:21:02 AM »
Hi,

I see the rules state the following:
When one of these churches is completed, it is first scored the same as a cloister in the base game rules. In addition, the player who has the most followers on the church tile and the 8 surrounding tiles scores 3 extra points. In case of a tie, all players involved get the 3 points.

Is it the number of physical meeples that counts, or the majority? In other words, shall the big meeple count as 2 meeple for the 3 points bonus?
Does the mayor count as the number of pennant in the city (so also possible to be 0!), or as 1, regardless the amount of penannt?

best regards,

This is a very good question!

For the sake of consistency, "the most followers" valid for the base game is treated as the usual extended majority evaluation when involving other expansions that alter the basic definition of majority. This said:
* The large meeple has 2 majority votes (counts as two meeples)
* The mayor has as many majority votes as the number of coats of arms in its feature (city or castle)
* Hills are considered as usual

So, in this case, majority is computed as usual, considering the majority votes each meeple has in its current location. For the time being, the only special case would be acrobats in a pyramid, where each meeple has 1 majority vote although the acrobat space ignores majority.

Hope this helps.

Hi Meepledrone,

Is this based on an official clarification?

Kind regards,
Vital

Is if official, because I don't like it :) Follower is follower and majority is majority. and count hills here, hmm.

Check how majority, as defined in the base game, evolves as new expansions are added to the game (especially Exp. 1, Exp.5, Exp. 9)...
