Question #07: Red places this tile. If we apply C1 rules, please answer the following questions:
a) How many points does Red score?
b) Can the wagon move to any feature after scoring?
c) What would be different in the previous answers if we apply C2 rules?

Answer #07: Red completes a road with the following elements:
* 7 square tiles (including one roundabout and one tunnel)
* 1 double-sized tile with a German castle, with both halved connected to the same road
* 4 Halflings (the hill is irrelevant in this case)
* 1 inn
* 2 sheds from Little Buildings

According to the C1 rules, each tile will be counted individually, even Halflings and double-sized tiles as per the clarifications from 10/2015. Therefore this road is scored as a 12-tile road.

The answers to the questions are the following:

a) Red will score 29 points (24 + 3 + 2 points)
   - 24 points for the road (12 tiles x (1 point per tile + 1 point for the inn) = 12 x 2 points).
   - 3 points for the German castle at the end of the road
   - 2 points for the sheds (1 sheds x 1 point per shed). Note: the variant applied is irrelevant.

Notes:
* The feature-level bonuses such as the German castle or Little Buildings are applied after the inn.
* The German castle bonus is considered only once even if the road ends at it multiple times.

b) After scoring, Red can move the wagon to any unoccupied, uncompleted adjacent feature to the road, where adjacent means connected to the road no matter the distance traveled. In this case, the only feature possible would be the German castle.

So Red can remove the wagon or move it the German castle. Remember that the wagon cannot be placed on a field.

c) If we consider the C2 rules, the road will be scored according to the number of square spaces it occupied.

In this case, the answer to question a) will be different, since each square space is counted individually, even if it is occupied by two Halflings or one half of a double-sized tile. So the road is scored as if it had 11 tiles.

c.a) Red will score 27 points (22 + 3 + 2 points)
   - 22 points for the road (11 tiles x (1 point per tile + 1 point for the inn) = 11 x 2 points).
   - 3 points for the German castle at the end of the road
   - 2 points for the sheds (1 sheds x 1 point per shed). Note: the variant applied is irrelevant.

Notes:
* The feature-level bonuses such as the German castle or Little Buildings are applied after the inn.
* The German castle bonus is considered only once even if the road ends at it multiple times.

c.b) In C2, the meaning of adjacent when moving the wagon changed. After scoring, Red can move the wagon to any unoccupied, uncompleted feature on the same tile or on adjacent tiles. The connectivity provided by the road is irrelevant in this case. The only adjacent tiles with uncompleted features are the two Halflings on the top right.

So Red can remove the wagon or move it the any of the city segments on the two Halflings top right. Remember that the wagon cannot be placed on a field.

Question #08: Red places this tile (not the last one of the game). How many points does each player score, if any?

Answer #08: Red is the only player scoring in this case. The completion of the unoccupied road triggers the scoring of the castle occupied by the Red Ringmaster.

The completed road is worth 6 points (3 tiles x (1 point per tile + 1 point for the German cathedral) = 3 x 2 points )

The Red Ringmaster will score 6 points for the road but no points for the ringmaster bonus, since the meeple is not on a feature from the base game. HiG only grants this bonus if the ringmaster is on a road, in a city, on a monastery or in a field. (They may revisit this limitation eventually.)

Bottomline:
* Red will score 6 points for the castle.

Note: If HiG reviews the rules as recommended by the community, the Red Ringmaster could also score a ringmaster bonus of 4 points:
* 2 points for the acrobat space in the castle fief
* 2 points for the circus space in the castle fief
But this is not official and we don't know yet if it will ever be at this point.

Question #09: Red receives this message. The player has the following questions:
a) Which monastery or monasteries can the player choose to apply the message?
b) How many points will the player score?

Answer #09: Red receives the "Smallest Monastery" message, which allows the player to score points for their monastery worth the least points as if scored at the end of the game. This means the vineyards adjacent to each monastery are irrelevant, since they are not considered at the end of the game.

Red occupies two monasteries:
* The monastery with the road worth 5 points ( (1 monastery tile + 4 adjacent tiles) x 1 point = 5 x 1 points).
* The monastery with no roads worth 7 points( (1 monastery tile + 6 adjacent tiles) x 1 point = 7 x 1 points).
This means that Red can only receive points for the monastery with the road with this message. The meeple on the monastery will stay on the feature undisturbed.

So the answers to these questions will be as follows.
a) Red will only be allowed to receive points for the monastery with the road, that is the monastery worth the least points.
b) Red will receive 5 points for this message.

Note: You can always decide to score 2 points for the message instead of the points it would grant.

Question #10: Yellow places this tile completing the city occupied by the Red Mayor. How many points does each player score?

Answer #10: The city completed by Yellow is worth 8 points (4 tiles x 2 points). Since the city has no coats of arms, the Red Mayor has strength 0 and cannot score points for it.

However, Yellow occupies a castle neighboring the completed city. As a result, Yellow will score as many points as the city is worth, even if Red Mayor could not score points for it. A castle scores the points a neighboring completed feature is worth no matter if the players occupying the completed feature can score points for it or not.

Note: With this action, Yellow managed to score points for the city before Red could add at least one coat of arms to the city and be able to score points for it too.

Bottomline:
* Red scores 0 points for the city
* Yellow scores 8 points for the castle

Question #11: Yellow places this tile completing this city and two roads. The player has the following questions:
1) How many points does each player score?
2) Based on this scoring, is this placement a good decision for Yellow? (That is, is Yellow the player scoring the most points from this tile placement?)

EDIT: Clarified the scope of question #2. Not trying to get a full analysis of possible options and considerations a player may check for a placement like this in a real game.

Answer #11: Before the completed features are scored, we should address the watchtowers.

The Blue Meeple in the city will receive the watchtower bonus triggered by the completion of the city. Blue will receive 8 points for this watchtower (4 neighboring meeples x 2 points) .

The Blue Meeple on the road will receive the watchtower bonus triggered by the completion of the road. Blue will receive 6 points for this watchtower (3 neighboring meeples x 2 points) .

After these scorings, the completed features may be scored as usual:
* The completed city is occupied by Blue and Yellow, but only the latter has the majority with two meeples. Therefore Yellow will score 16 points for the city ( (7 tiles + 1 coat of arms) x 2 points = 8 x 2 points).
* Red will score 3 points (3 tiles x 1 point) for the completed road the player occupies.
* Blue will score 3 points (3 tiles x 1 point) for the completed road the player occupies.

Bottomline:
1) The answer is:
* Blue scores 17 points (8 points for the left watchtower + 6 points for the right watchtower + 3 points for the road)
* Red scores 3 points for the road.
* Yellow scores 16 points for the city.
2) Blue scores more points than Yellow with the help of these watchtowers, so it is not a good decision in terms of points being scored. Outside of the scope of this question, Yellow may decide this placement is interesting because the player may prevent Blue from scoring even more points for these watchtowers.

Notes:
* Watchtowers are evaluated before any completed features triggering them. Otherwise the scoring may lead to different results depending on the order of evaluation of the completed features like in this case, since meeples removed from completed features may alter the number of points each watchtower is worth.
* Meeples on watchtowers receive the bonus no matter the player with the majority on the feature.
* The watchtower scoring for neighboring meeples takes into consideration all types of meeples: In this case, normal meeples and abbots.

Question #12: Red places this tile completing two roads. How many points does each player score?

Answer #12: This tile placement completes a 4-tile road with an inn occupied by Red and a 3-tile road with a bridge occupied by Yellow.

Red will score 8 points for the road with an inn (4 tiles x (1 point per road tile + 1 point for the inn) = 4 x 2 points)

Yellow will score 3 points for the road with the bridge (3 tiles x 1 point per road tile)

Notes:
* The inn does not affect the road segment represented by the bridge.
* The bazaar on the tile with the bridge ends the road occupied by Red.

Bottomline:
* Red scores 8 points
* Yellow scores 3 points
