Morning,

My first post on Car Central.

I have a number of ways to start a game of Carc (River I, II, City of, Markets, School, normal start tile - wind roses missing i know!) has anyone got a tried and tested method of getting all of them in when doing a mega-Carc?

Welcome to the forum!!! Hope you enjoy browsing around. You will find a lot of info about Carcassonne and also fan expansions if you are in the mood for it.

There is an entry about the Mega-Carcassonne games in the wikicarpedia (WICA) that makes some suggestions on different setups combining various startup tiles.

Hello and welcome!

I have done a similar start and it should be on the forum somewhere. If memory serves me, it was River 1, River 2, Starting tile, Windrosen 1 and 2, a Wheel of fortune.

I've combined all the starting tiles once in a mega-carcassonne.

This include River 1, 2 and 3 (and the spring tile from the GQ expansion), Wheel of Fortune, City of Carcassonne, Windroses 1 (i think we did use the Windroses 2 tiles, but not the starter), school and of course the standard starting tile.
We only used one of each (apart from the 4 different river springs), to not fill the table with starting tiles only

It worked very well i think, as it gave a lot of options for the rivers (many river tiles and many rivers to work on), and made for high scoring during our early turns.

I would say combining them can work, but would still keep it limited to 1 of each (apart from rivers). More schools.WoF's, cities, Windroses might not work well.
