Small arrival today! My English collection is surprisingly far from being completed, so when i came across this ZMG C1 Exp 5, i had to quickly swoop in and get it. together with some bits Decar managed to pick up for me at UKGE (as well as the added discovery of the 2nd printing BB7 from ZMG), only 10 items to go to complete this set

Very detailed write up, thanks for that @Decar ! Love seeing the pictures of every game! I usually forget to photograph at least 1 game on a day like that, so well done you! And thanks for finding the new BB7; I'll make sure to order one at bgextras I remember playing Beacon Patrol online with Rich a while back. It was more a sandbox environment, so without Rich actually knowing the rules, I would've probably made an even bigger mess of it. But I liked the look and feel there, so I can only imagine how nice it can be to play a physical copy! I remember seeing Majesty during a board- and videogame convention in Margate I think it was, many years ago. Never played it though. I also remember 1 stall selling Carcassonne there, but being overpriced. Overall, it sounds like you had a great day, and I hope to be joining you for it next year! And thanks for picking up some Carc for me on the side Of course, +1 merit for the great write up!

What's the brown tile next to the start tile in the centre of the board (picture)? I don't recognise it.
It is indeed a metal tile from Brazil this is a bronze version of the tile, which was given at prize (for 3rd place) at local tournaments. We used it as our starting tile (I just happened to draw another starting tile as the first tile, so of course placed it next to it) The largest field is very big indeed! Did that win the game?
It solidified the win, but I seem to recall MMike was already nicely in the lead before the field was scored I’m curious whether you think playing with City Gates tends to create big fields? Maybe I’m just accustomed to games with GQ and especially T&B, which tend to prevent the mega-field.
It was the first time I played with the City Gates, and I like them! I think they help with creating big fields, also as they add a lot of possible tile configurations, which opens up the way for more complex cities to be completed and fields to be worth more Also, you can barely spot them, but we also played with @Snearone 's New King's Orders! I love this expansion, as a sort of Secret Mission during the game. I did very well with them at the early game, building up a significant lead of about 30 points, only to stall midway through the game and coming in 3rd at the end due to the good farming of MMike and UncleWill

i would almost forget, but a few days ago, @unclewill , @MMike and myself played a nice game, with a nice landscape at the end: We used several expansion, with interesting combinations. We wanted to use the Plague tiles, but the rules don't really combine nicely with other expansions, so we decided it was more a nuclear plague, rather than the normal plague that spreads through the rats. When placing a plague tile, all meeple on the connected features would be removed, as well as any farmers on the 8 surrounding tiles. This proved to be deciding at several points in the game, and MMike was the last one to be able to use one and gain control over a large field

Lucky find then! It happens that people put stuff together in a big box for storage, and then sell the whole thing in 1. I guess the seller didn't know or realise it had so much more in it, and the buyer is very lucky.

Nice little arrival today! A second printing Mindok Czech/Slovak C1 base game! That makes the collection that little bit further complete

Looks like they had some old stock of C2.1 base games that they can't do anything with now it's all C3. They also had a base game set of tiles in the advent pack last December, and then now again in this bundle. It's a bit weird to bundle it with C3 maps, but it was mentioned in the bundle description (although not really clearly) It is good feedback to HiG, to be clearer with it for next time

It all depends on which box, and the condition of the components.
Often base games in the original art (C1) go for around the €15, but I've seen them go for less, or with a higher asking price. If it has anything unique (70point score track, or a very specific language which is hard to find), it can differ, but then it always depends on finding the right buyer

I was recently asked to do an interview with the dutch website Bordspelwereld.nl (boardgameworld) It can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/4akxwfw9The interview is in Dutch, but usually Google/Chrome/DeepL translations can help Of course both CarcassonneCentral and the Wikicarpedia get a mention

that picture is still on the page, so they've removed 1 image, and left the other (incorrect one) on there

After we got a glimpse of the Archives of HiG, as well as some questions i've been getting, i wanted to try and see if i could put my entire collection out in 1 place. My normal office would not give me enough room, so i confiscated my partner's office for the weekend, and set everything up. As i usually have a bunch of stuff in storage, i got that down, unpacked them and included them all: After setting it all up, taking a bunch of pictures and videos, i set to put it all back into the normal displays and storage. As i try to keep a system in what goes into storage, it took me quite some time on Sunday and Monday to pack it all away, but it's all packed up again

I would be in for 2 copies!
And I'm happy to distribute here where needed, but of course also happy for it to go to The Edge in NL, as that might be easier for EU distribution?
