So on that logic, Inns&Cathedrals, Traders&Builders and the 6 Minis don't exist anymore?
(And the minis haven't existed since C2)
As they are now part of the big box (both bb6 and bb7).
But, BB6 doesn't exist, nor does BB7, as they are just called Big Box.
But, the Spanish& Portuguese have been called Carcassonne Plus, so for them, a Big Box didnt exist until recently...

All to say, naming is and will be a mess across languages and years.

If anything, what were aiming at is a naming convention that makes it clear as to what we're referring to. River 3 is clear to all on what we mean.
The BB5 river could work just as well (other than the above logic that there is no BB5, so it wouldn't be a single iteration to refer to)

(on the back of both C1 and C2 Exp 6, it calls out the different components, including River 2....)

All you heretics still calling it River 1....
Is like calling the first Lion King movie Lion King 1... There's no such thing!  >:D

Define "official".
That is one of the most mis used words out there for many things  :D
If you mean "as referred to as such by the publisher", there are different things said by different publishers, which makes that a fluid definition as well.
Even C1/C2/C3 was a fan-term, until HiG fully adapted it with the C3 release
Even in doubt if HiG ever referred to the first River as the River 1. I think they just call it The River, and the River 2 as The River 2... (So is River 1 not an "official" name?  :o )
I'm sure I can get someone from HiG to say it's river 3  ;)

The shop display is purely a display box that shops could use for the dice game.
It holds the actual game tins.
These displays had been made for Phantoms, King&Scout, the 6 Minis anf the Count of Carcassonne as well. Those are all easier to find, but it seems the ones for the Dice game have not made it to the free market as much. Perhaps as it is a bigger display than all the others?
Here's a picture of one:

That display seems to be the most difficult to find! Hope you find one soon!

Very nice! The Adults of Carcassonne!
The shot glasses are particularly hard to find! Congrats on the arrival!

To start, I agree on the terminology of River 3.
Mainly as there are indeed quite a few river implementations, and this is the only one with clear different features (although optional in use).
No other river version has these, which makes it stand out.

Then back to the topic:
In general, the backs of all river tiles are dark, due to these being starting tiles. However, this is not always strictly held up by all publishers. I'm not sure where you're based and which language BB5 you have, but these things can be publisher specific.
I'd have to check my BB5's to compare (but I'm travelling so don't have easy access to them).
As NGC54 mentioned, the Romanian exp 6 came with light back river 2 tiles. The Dutch first expansion came with the River 1, and the first print of that also had light backs. Even though the first release of the River 1 in NL had dark backs (a give away at an event). Later releases of the 1st expansion had the river with dark backs.

In short, unfortunately this is something that does not seem consistent across publishers or even prints by the same publisher.
I would expect that sometimes they are on light backs as the same blank tiles can be used for the entire box, but that is speculation.
The general rule is for all River tiles (and all starting tiles for that sake), to have dark backs

Good to see Advent orders arriving!

I think the QR code instead of the physical rules might be something we'll be seeing more from now on.
WoH and Spell Circles also came without rules but only with QR codes on the envelopes.

News and Events / Re: The Drawbridges - New mini coming soon

Cundco have stated they are not planning any reprints of the Spell Circles for now.
My guess is that they first want to clear all stock of this first run.
With that, i would expect the version with the production issue in the advent box of this year

The Marketplace / Re: [WTT] Spiel 22 promo tile for Spiel 23 promo tile

Just to clarify:
Are you looking for a Spiel 22 tile and offering a Spiel 23 tile?
Or are you looking for a Spiel 23 tile and offering a Spiel 22 tile?

Yep;
In a Cundco newsletter, they've announced the Drawbridges mini expansion for release in a few days, on the 21st.
This will be the start of the Advent promo. From then, this mini will be available to order

I do agree. Not so much to have physical copies available, as I don't mind it too much, but also the large envelopes used.
Especially the WoH comes in a big envelope, even though it doesn't need it.
If there was a rule sheet included, that might justify it hahaha

I guess it is more for being able to use standard sized envelopes
