Since Little Buildings has no proper tiles, you could use it with any edition too... I sometimes play it with 1.5cm unpainted wooden cubes with 1 to 3 pips drawn on one of its side.

... You could say a similar thing about Little Buildings.

The rules are in C1 format. That's the reason why I left it as is.

Ha ha ha!
Those crazy tiles either are distributed at the beginning of the game or they are using a proxy regular tile shuffled with the others. If you daw the proxy tile, you get the associated crazy tile and place it... Any takes on this? 7

I agree. I added a clarification to WICA in this regard: completed cemeteries are worth 0 points and can trigger a castle scoring. 9

I sent HiG a question last week. Let's see if we got an answer... I agree that the simpler the better...

Quizzes, Puzzles and Challenges / Re: Sunday Quiz 2022« on: March 19, 2023, 06:09:14 AM »Question #07: Red places this tile. If we apply C1 rules, please answer the following questions: Answer #07: Red completes a road with the following elements: * 7 square tiles (including one roundabout and one tunnel) * 1 double-sized tile with a German castle, with both halved connected to the same road * 4 Halflings (the hill is irrelevant in this case) * 1 inn * 2 sheds from Little Buildings According to the C1 rules, each tile will be counted individually, even Halflings and double-sized tiles as per the clarifications from 10/2015. Therefore this road is scored as a 12-tile road. The answers to the questions are the following: a) Red will score 29 points (24 + 3 + 2 points) - 24 points for the road (12 tiles x (1 point per tile + 1 point for the inn) = 12 x 2 points). - 3 points for the German castle at the end of the road - 2 points for the sheds (1 sheds x 1 point per shed). Note: the variant applied is irrelevant. Notes: * The feature-level bonuses such as the German castle or Little Buildings are applied after the inn. * The German castle bonus is considered only once even if the road ends at it multiple times. b) After scoring, Red can move the wagon to any unoccupied, uncompleted adjacent feature to the road, where adjacent means connected to the road no matter the distance traveled. In this case, the only feature possible would be the German castle. So Red can remove the wagon or move it the German castle. Remember that the wagon cannot be placed on a field. c) If we consider the C2 rules, the road will be scored according to the number of square spaces it occupied. In this case, the answer to question a) will be different, since each square space is counted individually, even if it is occupied by two Halflings or one half of a double-sized tile. So the road is scored as if it had 11 tiles. c.a) Red will score 27 points (22 + 3 + 2 points) - 22 points for the road (11 tiles x (1 point per tile + 1 point for the inn) = 11 x 2 points). - 3 points for the German castle at the end of the road - 2 points for the sheds (1 sheds x 1 point per shed). Note: the variant applied is irrelevant. Notes: * The feature-level bonuses such as the German castle or Little Buildings are applied after the inn. * The German castle bonus is considered only once even if the road ends at it multiple times. c.b) In C2, the meaning of adjacent when moving the wagon changed. After scoring, Red can move the wagon to any unoccupied, uncompleted feature on the same tile or on adjacent tiles. The connectivity provided by the road is irrelevant in this case. The only adjacent tiles with uncompleted features are the two Halflings on the top right. So Red can remove the wagon or move it the any of the city segments on the two Halflings top right. Remember that the wagon cannot be placed on a field. 12

Here we would be defining a new type of action triggered by the completion of a feature not found in any previous expansion....
The completion of a fortune teller tent triggers a bonus for the player completing the feature, but no points for the player occupying the feature (except cases like the fairy assigned to the fortune teller). Instead, the completion of the fortune teller tent cancels the ability to draw more than one tile for the occupier of the tent. The completion of an easter nest triggers grants chocolate eggs, but no meeple can occupy the east nest symbol, so no proper scoring takes place. The rules clarify that he completion of an easter nest does not trigger the scoring of castles in its vicinity. Could we assume that cemeteries follow the lead of easter nests? 15

I try to solve a expansion between major expansions, but the discussion may lead me to similar mechanics from minis. So sometimes they provide an answer for the whole lot.
On Discord, they told us that they would resolve questions interactions between expansions within the same box, but not interaction with other standalone minis. The minis in BB4/BB6/BB7 have plenty of room to explore. With this in mind, I tried to solve som open issues within the scope of BB7 twice and got no since January 2022: The turn sequence of the abbot scoring, the inteactions of Messages with Mage & Witch and the scoring sequence of Robbers keep me awake at night... ![]() Regarding Exp. 11, some interactions need a little clarification, but their scope is irrelevant to the expansion itself. For example, does the completion of a cemetery trigger the scoring of neighboring castle (Exp. 8 ) for 0 points? Or should we assume that the completion of a cemetery is closer to the completion of an acrobat pyramid which does not trigger any neighboring castle (it is a meeple related action, not a scoring related action)? |
