Last iteration of the Winter Edition is very good and I think I'll buy it online (if I'll manage to understand how to recognize it so I don't buy again the version I already own) but that first edition... WOW

Is there actually any news on this re-release of the winter edition? Do we know if they're eventually going to roll out globally? Really hoping to get a copy here in Australia, as postage is just ridiculous these days, but not sure how likely it is and my "googling" isn't resulting in much.

Currently, not much to report. HiG shared that "some partners" are doing this print, which leaves with no real info. It has been released in French, Bulgarian and Romanian so far, and I would expect more publishers to pick it up, but who knows.
From HiG themselves they basically said they are waiting for the stock of the 2020 WE to sell out first, before looking at releasing this one.
As Asmodee is the distributer in France, I believe they have also planned this French release in Canada. That could be a good sign, as good sales might help convince them to do the release in more countries, and push ZMG to actually make the English version

As an Aussie living in the US @chris6507 I can report that there is no sign of a WE 3.0 release in either country yet. I am checking very often

but I will continue to wait....

Can confirm that the French version is being released in Canada within the next few months. I’ve already got a preorder in. We’re just waiting for the container to arrive from Europe.

oh wait,it is actually very interesting, those are 2 different rivers !

the base game is identical (except of course for abbots), but river has different configurations (monastery on end tile and split field on source)

Guess i'll have to buy new one, shame .... :p

Hi Scott. Where'd you place your pre-order? I have ordered from Boardgamebliss in the past because shipping to WI was still reasonable, but I didn't see it there yet.

I tried with an online shop in Bulgaria and they emailed me back that it was possible to ship, but i never heard anything about it?
