I received mine today, in the US. Thank you so much, SRBO!

They arrived in the U.S. already but still not in Switzerland?! That's a travesty!  >:(

If you feel relieved, not here in Spain either (also closer tan US XD)

I think every game is different. Some games get huge fields, other huge roads, others absurdly easy cloisters so I don't see as bad that big cities might come up. For me fighting for a single city is not that bad, normally you also get to go for other objectives as you build up to conquer the city. Perhaps depending on your playstyle jcloister AI answers in determined ways that will always disembark in a huge city.

I would also want one copy if posible, though I know you're already kind of overburdened with buying a thousand copies. Have paypal and bank transfer available :p

But at least they have a new WATERmark (pun intended) to identify them easily.

I finally couldn't resist and I bought the Big Box 5 here in Spain, since I saw an offer for 45 euros when the standard retail price is 50. One piece of wisdom, the Sheep & Hills that comes in the big box does NOT have the White bag for the sheep/Wolf tokens which was kind of dissapointing, though I can't confirm if this also happens in other countries.

Also, this is the link to the original post where I found the link to the La Porxada PDF.

http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=161.msg2557#msg2557

It seems pretty clear from this that jputt927 was the author of the PDF (adding the water mark and creating the second tile) but if this isn't the case then so be it.

I also think jputt927 did the second tile. I mean he didn't do "La Porxada" but he mixed and matched stuff to have a second tile.

I like the secret message on the board, is your cousin's name Paul? :P

Not his, but mine.  8)

He actually didn't realise it, but he made a P by accident and when I pointed that out, we felt like it was a Twilight Zone moment. (Something we do when weird or unexplained happens, where we hum the Twilight Zone theme out loud.)  ;D

With that, he decided to spell my name out on the board!  :(y)

There's also a few other easter eggs on the board if you can spot them.  ;)

I can't seem to find anymore, maybe the huge tower plus all the walled part in thetop right. It might be a reference to isengard or mordor? I don't know, I give up :P

News and Events / Re: Carcassonne - new Edition - Is that true?
« on: October 05, 2014, 03:20:39 AM »
I just had an idea, a what if... Appart from all reasons they gave us to make a new edition, I was wondering if the old edition represented old carcassonne and the new one is intended to represent current age carcassonne. This may sound silly but the darmstadd expansion gave me this idea, like "what if this is modern carcassonne", and maybe they have plenty of new themes to explore for future expansions, not just medieval ones. Of course I'm being absolutely crazy here, since they already have carcassonne around the world to make stuff like theme-change. I just wanted to share this crazy thought xD

If the art of the tile is that contemporary building I'd see this more as a promotional collectible item than an actually playable thing, moreso being only 1 tile. The art doesn't fit much into Carcassone.

Am I the only one really NOT liking this idea of a total new set of carc?

The graphics are so different and ugly in my opinion.. i wont buy or mix them with my carccollection

Based on the couple of pictures I've seen (not up close), I completely agree with you. I find the graphics of the original so beautiful which is a huge part of the attraction of the game for me. The simplicity and rustic quality of the original seems completely gone in this new version. But I'd like to see more pictures.

Thanks,

Im also terrified of the idea new expansions only come out in new graphics..

Me too :(
