OK, thanks. My big existential question of the moment related to carcassonne is to know if I invest in sleeves to protect my tiles.  ???

I don't personally but I know plenty of people do and I can understand why they would choose to use them. For me, it's become quite rare that I actually play with physical tiles, and even when we do we don't use any of the rare or valuable expansions so there isn't much in the way of value to protect anyway.

If you use a bag to draw the tiles is a must...

It really is. I was playing a copy of Hunters and gathers 2nd edition out of a bag and you could tell a few pieces has already taken a beating

After a brief dry spell, the deliveries are flooding in again!

Yesterday this t-shirt arrived, expertly designed by @MMike and as seen on the Essen crew: @Decar, @Danisthirty, @Meepledrone, and @Willem

Today’s deliveries include a very nice copy of the print-and-play Super Mariossonne and custom @Linksux tile, both courtesy of @Linksux; as well as two sets of my zippered meeple bags to upgrade my C1 and C3 play sets to match my C2 play set.

There should be several more deliveries coming soon!

Nice additions. Still, every time I see the C3.0 Fest, I cannot stop thinking that if the HiG replaced the outdated number 15 with a more appropriate one for this edition, it would be much better.

Problém is that already is expansion represented by number 20.
I think that had to remove number and kept there just fireworks.
But we are not designers of official expansions :)

A couple days ago my copy of the Carcassonne Dice Game arrived from eBay.

My wife and I immediately tried and found it not to be any fun.  On her first two turns, she made 7-dice cities for 15 points each and I made 8-dice cities for 21 points each, which meant I won the game!  Then we tried a variant that I made up on the spot (using meeples as farmers) and that was also not fun.  So, then we simulated playing a 4-player game, and we discovered the profound value of the "keep a meeple" option!  After two players do this, only 7 dice go to the 3rd player, who will typically throw at least one catapult, making their maximum possible score only 10 points, but it is trickier to build a 6-dice city, so then they end up keeping a meeple too.... My preliminary conclusion is that the game gets interesting and exciting with 4 or 5 players!

I'm definitely adding this to my list of fun bar games, up there with Carc für 2 and Die Mauer (my inexpensive homemade version with slightly simplified rules).

I admire your dedication to find The Carcassonne Dice Game's niche.  I didn't think much would save it  ;D

A nice thick envelope arrived today from my wooden token supplier.

A few things were out of stock, so you can see some gaps. Four different projects are represented here.

1. City and road tokens for C3 King & Robber Baron. I use these on the 50-point scoreboard to track the sizes of the largest city and longest road for each player.

2. Set of tunnel tokens for my C2 set. I have lots of stickers leftover from doing my C1 set.

3. Set of plague tokens for my C2 set. I have lots of stickers leftover from doing my C1 set.

4. Betting tokens for my C3 set. Two colours were out of stock, but eventually there will be 12 sets. I haven’t ordered the stickers yet, but they have been designed.
