Congratulations corinthiens13!
Thank you Meepledrone for hosting the quiz!
Not only was I able to learn more about the rules of the expansions I haven't played yet (like Big Top or Gingerbread Man) by analyzing why I answered the questions wrong, it also confirmed that rushing doesn't always pay off :D
In my case, questions: #3 counting the garden for a road with a bridge, #6 taking the blue shepherd as a normal meeple on the road #11 not including points for roads printed on the map #19 not adding one point for the blue abbot from the small building.
Small mistakes, but they significantly affected my score.
bonusDucks congratulations for answering question #24 fully correct :)

Meepledrone, would you prepare a table of who answered the questions correctly/incorrectly and the scores not including points for speed? Simply 1 point for the correct one.
And for question #5 was all thre scenarios required?

Ha ha ha! Are you going to use C1 wagon criteria as a reference for a C2 expansion that ignores C1 altogether? :o

If you put it that way, but it could be it's own road-to-road Leipzig criteria :D

95
For me it should be based on wagon C1 movement but for roads only. No problem with multiple jumps from road to road to road, with trees or small cottage blocking them. But if there is cloister or similar claimable feature in a way other than road , it's no good.

News and Events / Re: Carcassonne Big Box with new tile format?
« on: December 05, 2021, 03:27:56 AM »
It looks like they updated box art, fixing a few bugs such as wrong distribution of  ferries tiles,  the lone pig lying down, the lone mage and witch, although the meeples could be just out of frame, which was also slightly changed , and my favorite error at the end of the river where the road joined the field :D
I wonder how many units they send out to shops with those errors, collectors, don't waste your time :D

And is it really BB6 and not BB7 ???

New edition artworks are drawn more realistically rather than the old ones.

You can compare box arts over here:

Official Rules / Re: New mini expansion: The Signposts

Thanks totor66 for those images :)
So in the end there are extra points for more than one kind of valid signpost.
I like how they handled road ends, it avoids a lot of problems altogether.

I know about the releases, but it is still C2 artwork even if with some added more recent details. The previously used C2.2 is more appropriate if we want a fan term. It is the same situation as the switch to lighter city colors. C3 would require an entire overhaul of artwork/artstyle.
Yes, I think it should be called 2.2, and 3.0 came from third iteration of the same big box 4/6, hence the number.

Official Rules / Re: New mini expansion: The Signposts
« on: December 01, 2021, 03:44:23 AM »
The Signpots as for me are one of the worst designed expansions so far, visually, game mechanics are ok.
As most of you have pointed out, signposts are such an uncomplicated and non-intrusive element that they could have been nicely designed showing actually signposts. Some fan-expansions like The Vistas would even benefit from it, which is not possible with floating arrows.
If the direction (left, right, straight) doesn't matter when scoring and for each of the extensions there will be one more point to the road, making them in different colors to add even more variety to the already overloaded graphically tile is at this point a  disadvantage.
Markets of Leipzig already had road signs, something similar could be used, even adding some texts as an easter eggs, or a completely new design instead of those arrows.

I had a similar problem when creating my first (still being refined) fan-made expansion of The Rock. However, sometimes the use of symbols is unavoidable or simply less invasive.

Just as Guy wrote, using plague it is possible to stuff all the meeples on a single tile, or at least almost all.
Especially useful for moving a builder, pig or shepherd.
Abbots would be a special case, as they need to be placed on the same garden or monastery using flyiers.
Count expansion can also be helpful for sending meeples into features.
Tile from the goldmines: CRRC+monastery, would also accommodate mage and witch at the same time + fairy.
So for 6 players C1+C2 game, that would be 99 meeples on a single tile.
Using big box 5 with 2 extra sets of (some) meeples would decreese the number, as all players need to have same sets of meeples, so that would exclude ringmasters, phantoms, mayors and wagons, for 91 total.

But as the first post states, only new edition, so the highest meeple count at a single tile would be 75 using count expansion for initial filling the tile (including large, mayor, wagon, ringmaster), flyer to place abbots, crop circles for all remaining meeples that were not added by city of carcassonne mechanic, and mage+witch+fairy for a good measure at the end.

If you have possibility, which fan expansion do you want to have and you want to play in JCloisterZone?
You know my choices :D
Probably two that will be hardest to implement due to a lot of rule changes and variables, by order of the king, and seasons.
The third one on my list would be Family Feud, and this one is coming soon to JCZ ;)

General / Re: Carcassonne: Carc Central Edition?
« on: June 03, 2021, 04:54:22 AM »
I would like to join as well :)
My suggestion is to draw tiles (as you would in normal Carcassonne game ;) ) and not choose, one at a time, that will allow more people to join in later on, if not, current participants will draw next ones till it will be completed.
The starting tile could be made last, poll for best candidate based on already made tiles would determine who should do it, same goes for scoring track, or this one could be "patched" together. What you think?

General / Re: Translations
« on: May 21, 2021, 05:14:35 AM »
The best option, of course, is to contact the author. It is possible that he will provide a translation himself.
If not, I am in favour of translations that are as literal as possible with respect to the original, even if they will contain errors that can be corrected by translators comments. I would leave adding extra rules based on the new expansions solely to the player.

The translation, as the original, will be made available for free, so it should not hurt anyone, on the contrary, because the work will be spread on to a wider audience and its author could be appreciated by that group, otherwise being unknown.

I'm also in favour of preserving the original presentation, however, this is not always possible. Using the CarcC template is not good, so it would be best to use the template that was used to create the original rules, or just leave the unformatted translated text along with the original file.
