If you get a message for the 1-point fairy bonus, you should resolve the message at that point, before drawing a new tile and placing it. So this means you can receive and resolve a message after the fairy point (at the beginning of your turn) and another one after phase
3. Scoring a feature in this case.
You have this clarification from 5/2014 covering this particular case you may find here:
http://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_Messages#cite_note-19Scoring 1 point for possession of the fairy is a separate scoring event, so it can trigger an opportunity to receive a Message by itself. In this case the dispatch may interrupt your turn, so you might have to keep track and resume the turn where you left it. You don't lose a phase of your regular turn. (5/2014)
This said, you could also receive a message after phase
2. Placing a meeple if you performed an action scoring points, for example:
* Removing you abbot (The Abbot)
* Scoring an acrobat pyramid (Exp. 10 - Under the Big Top)
* Scoring your shepherd (Exp. 9 - Hills & Sheep)
* Performing a fruit action (The Fruit-Bearing Trees)
This means with C2 expansions you may have up to 3 rounds of scoring during your turn, where you check the position of your scoring figures at the end of each one and any of them that landed on a dark space will grant you one message (only one per round of scoring even if your two scoring figures landed on dark spaces).
If you add C1 expansions to the mix, you may have up to 6 rounds of scoring in one turn. This happens with The Wheel of Fortune (after drawing a tile but before placing it), The Wind Roses (right after placing the tile), Exp. 7 - The Catapult (after scoring).
Each round of scoring entitles you to receive a message, resolve it and even get chained messages if any of your scoring figures lands on a dark space again. If receiving Message 4 (Message 7 in C1), you will perform a nested turn before continuing your current turn (this may sound odd, yes). So you don't wait until the end of your turn to resolve the message.
Things may get a bit complicated if you add double turns too as you may have to resolve a Message 4 (add a landscape tile) triggering a double turn itself before you perform the second part of an ongoing double turn... These are fringe cases but this is what happens when Messages get mixed with some expansions: what starts as a simple thing may get a bit entangled and clarifications are needed.
