I thought that the first release of CarcII had the darker cities (ie Carc 2.0) which was only the Base Game, I&C and B&T (it's what I have), and that the lighter (and later one) is Carc 2.1 which saw them reprinted, plus all the subsequent expansions.

Hmm, so I got the light and dark backwards? Thanks for the clarification. But I still can't reconcile this with what ahri is saying, because he says he wants the older Carc II rather than the newer Carc II, but his image shows the lighter cities, which is apparently the newest/latest version.

I guess I should have known better than to stick my nose in this new-art business. Best to stay safely hidden away, deep inside my classic-artwork cave. ;)

Can I claim your spelonk as my new classic-artwork cave?

Looks about right. How do I get the version I need?
Besides selling and buying big box, which, although silly, I’d do if the newest design wasn’t ugliest for me.
Also, I need I&C too since the one I thought I’d get was 1.0 :(

Ditch the old style - it's out of print.
Ditch the new style with darker cities - that's also no longer being produced.

Future expansions will not match, if that's a concern.

And was also only ever produced for the base game, I&C and T&B to begin with. P&D was released with the lighter brown cities.

Just made a quick picture of the 2 together, as the Spiel tiles all seem to have the darker brown in the cities. The lighter brown around is the currently used colour.

The first six Spiel tiles were all likely printed at the same time (i.e. at the beginning of the new art period in 2014), so that makes sense.
