London - May 30th
« on: May 01, 2024, 12:22:28 PM »
Hi, I’ll be in London form May 30th to June 4th and I’d like to find a good boardgames shop (Carcassonne related, too).
Any suggestion? I’ll be traveling with my wife.

If you're travelling to London from Europe by train you will likely/ certainly (?) arrive at London St. Pancras International. I met a friend there last month and we went to a great boardgame cafe called Rogues Quarter. We got the tube to Chalk Farm and it was a 10-minute walk from there. They had big tables, a good selection of games and nice, well-priced food.

Others I've visited in London include Draughts in central/ North London and D20 which is a bit further afield in Watford, but still worth a visit if you're in the area.

Hope you enjoy your visit!

I’m in London now, but we have a lot of traditional sites to see with another family, so no time for a side trip to a game shop.  But on the way to Moulin Rouge last night, we stopped by Foyles and discovered a new and reasonably large games section that was pretty nice.  Also, if you are with a group who doesn’t like games, they can enjoy the books.

I got a copy of Rome in a Day, which is a fast, simultaneous action, 2-5 player hex tile game with scoring very similar to Kingdomino, so I’m really excited to give it a try!
